I've been intensely sick all day, so now I'm desperate enough to plead for advice to you guys on how to not feel like I'm dying.

It's basically just my stomach and stuff. I have a consistent need to throw up regardless of what I try and even though there's no food in my left. I'm extremely naeseous and I'm shaking like a freaking leaf. I have no idea what's wrong with me, but I'm basically reduced to a shaky pathetic Rina and need advice.

God this was hard to type.

Sounds like you have a 24 hour stomach flu. Unfortunately, there not much you can do but ride it out. Try to stay hydrated even if you keep throwing up. Sorry, Rina, I hope you feel better quickly.

That sucks. I haven't been sick to my stomach in forever, just because of my extreme fear of vomiting, I swear that it's only by willpower that I've stayed well. But I would suggest some nice, calm music and something to distract you, maybe a book or a movie or something, with a trash can next to you...

Oh, and my family has always used the trick to drink stale Coke. I don't know it if works, but it fills you up a bit and removes the bad taste.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna eat something since I'm starving, (like waffles or something? Nothing that's got a lot going on) and then see if I can sleep.

If you want to eat, its best to have some dry food, like toast (or waffles I guess

If you're finding that eating just makes you want to be sick, then try eating a banana. The potassium in them really seems to settle the stomach, great for when you're feeling sick like that.

Definitely sounds like a 24 hour type virus, a work colleague had these same symptoms the other day, and that's exactly what it was. Relax, keep hydrated and stay calm. If it doesn't get better tomorrow, go to a doctor.

It could also be a mild case of food poisoning too with those symptoms.

I once had the most terrifying experiences of my life thanks to some food poisoning. Haven't been through it since though.

eat some plain white rice.
it's a binder...and will help bind your nasty gut.

one time i ate this sushi that had been laying out in the sun for hours. i've never been so sick.

like, my symptoms were almost EXACTLY what you had.

OH, and how could I forget the time I ate that three bean salad in Mexico. SO SICK.

If it persists, Rina, I would definitely think about seeing a doctor.

I usually just lie in bed with a blanket while watching TV or reading or playing video games. I don't usually listen to music when I'm sick but thats just me. I just try to make myself really warm aswell.

Sushi ALWAYS does that to me. UGH. And yeah, the doctor thing is key.

Drink half a box of the cheapest white wine you can find, and eat 3 five layer burritos with lots of fire sauce. It'll be good for you.

And it helps if the ginger ale actually has ginger in it (rather than simply has some cheaper stuff to make it taste similar to ginger), since the ginger itself tends to sooth the stomach.

Also, it's not a given that the so-called stomach flu (really called gastroenteritis as it isn't at all related to influenza) is viral. It happens less often, but it can definitely be caused by various bacteria.
