So DTF, last night I finally gave into peer pressure and tried a four loko. I hate to admit that I loved it, but it scares me as a product. I'm a pretty good sized dude, and one can royally fucked me up. I can't imagine ever drinking one of those things with the caffeine in it as well. I can totally understand now why parents were scarred as hell of their 14 year olds getting a hand of this stuff.

i forget the source, but i remember hearing that one 6 pack of beer = one four loko.

Yeah Four Lokos can really fuck you up. I've learned my lesson in the past, having thrown up on more than one occasion. I'm probably not going to have any more of them in the future even though they removed the caffeine from them now.

Ricky, you have to look at the percentages. One Four Loko is equal to 5.59 Natty Lights (based on 4.2%. I just did the math...)

I won't drink that stuff, but I was there at a party when a girl blacked out and had to be taken to the hospital. Then again, she had probably already ingested plenty of other substances. Plus, she was fucking 14. That makes it kind of hard to account for it's effect from first hand... at least I can give it the benefit of the doubt in saying that it probably wasn't meant for drunk, high 14 year olds. Still, never taking it. She fucking got everyone there busted too. Thank god I'm generally the kid who just hangs out by the pool table; that saved me from trouble for once.

When it's 12% alcohol and you drink it pretty fast, it will mess you up.

I've tasted them before but never had one or more to myself. However, I am very aware of what they are capable of doing to people. Last night a kid I know (100% alcoholic) chugged 3 of them, like it's some sort of fucking contest. He's trying to brag about how many he can drink in one night.

Anyway, this kid's nickname is "DD" (Drunk Dan) because there's almost never a moment of sobriety with him. He constantly gets arrested and ends up int he hospital - and what's his drink of choice? That's right, Four Lokos

But in all seriousness, I hear these are pretty bad for you. I don't believe it's the drink that puts kids in the hospital, it's kids with the judgment and maturity of "Drunk Dan" that gets them there. Don't drink unnecessary amounts and you won't end up in a drug-induced coma. It's all about self-control.

They taste.... okay. There's really nothing special about them, but they don't taste like shit or anything.

I don't even know what it is, but from what I hear it sounds like it doesn't taste like alcohol, or just very little? Because that's the worst, it's one of two things regarding alcohol that my mother had been very careful with teaching me - never drink strong cider or anything like that because you will have no idea about how much alcohol you get. (The other is "never drink anything you didn't open yourself, didn't get straight from the bartender or that you've left unwatched.") I like mixing my wine with a little Sprite, yes, but I'd never drink anything with no alcohol taste at all.

Four Loko is a relatively strong (10-12%) drink that is caffeinated, so essentially you get drunk faster and don't feel the depressant effects of alcohol as much.

although, I do believe back in the fall the FDA made them quit making the beer with caffeine

I never touched a Four Loko. I wasn't scared of the alcohol or the caffeine, just the inevitable, crippling heartburn.

I had one last night actually. Not too bad, but the flavors are mostly shit. The only tolerable one is the Lemonade flavored one.

I'm completely unaffected by huge levels of caffeine, but I'm a mediumweight at best with alcohol, so I doubt this would actually 'work' for me. Still, if it was available in the UK without massive hassle I'd try some.
