Very interesting. I particularly like how you labeled the respective parts (Meshuggah, Country etc). :lol
... And you ask me: "Where's my hairspray?"

Haha, that reminds me of a tempo track I tried to make for a symphonic version of The Count of Tuscany. Wasn't perfect tempo, but not too bad...

It friday friday!
Gotta know the drummer on friday!

WE SO EXCITED OMG :caffeine::caffeine::caffeine::caffeine::caffeine:
Jesus Christ himself* comes down amidst a choir of 2 billion angels singing Handel's Hallelujah chorus. As KrotchRaut shred randomly on guitars made of dragon bones using picks made from God's kidney stones, Jesus heals a blind woman who promptly gives birth onstage to a creation of pure light.

*Yes, Jesus Christ himself. Nothing less will do.

Of course, I'll be at work.  Unless I get "sick."
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Just based on demographics alone Mangini is the obvious choice. Northeast, Berklee, age, etc.

On top he's got the attitude and skills.

I'd be very surprised if it is not him.

I don't get the love for Mangini. He's pretty much just Mike Portnoy imo. Nothing special, nothing new.

Working 10-5 tomorrow. Going to try to watch it on my phone on my lunch break. Hopefully the 3rd episode is also around 20 minutes...

I am leaving work at lunch time to go to Barnes and Noble to use their Wi-Fi, I will just be sitting there with the shit eating grin on my face. I am 46 and excited like a little school girl.

That's awesome, haha.

Unfortunately, I do not have the same luxury because I live in a somewhat small town. I'm just hoping someone or something doesn't spoil it for me before I watch the episode (even though I already believe its gonna be Mangini).
Where would YOU be without prog?!

It's been confirmed by many sources the drummer is Mike Mangini. That was also implied by Derek Roddy yesterday. They gave the guy the entire first episode! I don't see how it's not Mike Mangini, that would be strange seeing the way they have set up this entire documentary, and to take account different sources saying it is him. But I will watch this last episode with an open mind!

He had the last 8 minutes of the first episode. 10 if you're generous.

The Royal wedding AND the finale of the DT drummer auditions on the same day? I'll be the Illuminati is behind all of this...

Yeah, I'm pretty excited but I'm with the majority here who think Mangini got the job. I'm ok with that as he looks to be a pretty solid fit musically and personality wise. I was pulling for Donati early on but once I saw a bit of his audition, I knew Mangini would be a far superior fit. Virgil actually seemed a little flat to me, not the usual virtuoso powerhouse we've become used to.

Seriously, it's probably all an Illuminati plot... :tup

I agree with what someone posted earlier. They didn't show Mangini play TSCO. I think they'll be like, 'Welcome to the family' and than they show Mike playing TSCO.

God, I am so excited for this!!!

It's a little bit weird actually. We've waited half a year to find out who the new drummer is and today it's finally happening!

...or is it?  :hat

What's everybody's favorite bit of the videos so far? Mine is definitely Lang's jam test. He's amazing.

Mangini's one-handed snare intro to TDOE while twirling a stick with the other hand :lol
Didn't Roddy play that bit with one hadns as well? I'm sure they showed him doing that too.

Peter, hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty of inserting those CuBase screenshots into your initial post where you had originally meant to insert them.
