Cable is great solely for Sports and news.

as well as discovery channel, animal planet, history, and nat geo.
I used to think that, but honestly, most of their programming is pretty crappy now, too.  Half of it's just more reality based crap, and the actual documentary stuff is more infotainment than educational.  Every once in a while, I'll go to [where people go for such things] and pick out 20 or so documentaries from the BBC.  They seem to have slightly more respect for the intelligence of their audience.  And like the rest of my tv watching, it's all stuff that I actually have an interest in watching, rather than what happens to be on at any given time.
Argument, the presentation of reasonable views, never makes headway against conviction, and conviction takes no part in argument because it knows.
