Resume help

I have a friend who has a civilian job at the local air force base and who says there are openings available. I want to pursue this...but I haven't done a resume in awhile and I have one major question.

Is it preferable to list all your previous jobs? Or meraly your past three or four?

Any job that has relivant, transferable skills should be listed.  On my CV to be a university professor, I list my experience as a high school and college football coach, as well as my experience selling vacuum cleaners (teaching and public speaking skills), but I leave off my time as a pizza maker (unless there is a department Iron Chef contest like we have at VT )

Also, in all cases, check the red squiggly lines under words on your resume. Spell check is telling you something that way.

Another thing: just because it looks fine in spell check, doesn't mean it's right. Read over your CV a couple of times.

I made the mistake of making mine at 4am and then sending it off the next morning. I had typed my E-mail address wrong.

Thankfully, they phoned me instead of E-mailing it so I still got the job

If you have had older jobs that may be relevant to getting this job, don't just mention you last 3-4! If you just mention your last couple ones, be sure to not make it look like that's the only ones you've had. "They" usually don't like big, unexplained gaps in time between jobs/school.

Yeah, I would say list anything relevant (but don't take up too much space). And relevant is not always obvious; I listed my liquor store job on my resume for grad schools that asked for it, citing it as one of the reasons I want to be a counselor/social worker (dealing with alcoholics all day, coworkers with lots of issues)... and I got into most of them

I have found a job opening to be a math tutor (this would be my fourth job currently lol). I want to get it so I can quit food service.

I have never written a resume. I've always been helped in and hired on with just filling out the legal stuff. What should I include in my resume?

Info about me:

I have 5 years manager experience in food service.
I have 2 years tutoring experience, though how that works is I started as an in-home tutor 2 years ago, got hired by my college as a math tutor August 2010, and got hired by tutor.com in March of 2011.
Not bragging, but for the purpose of my question, my best skills are in teaching new concepts, communicating details, managing people, content knowledge (for math from arithmetic to calculus and more), and working with others.
