To crush my enemies, to see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

I fucking love you Hef.
I fucking love you too, baconlord of the left coast.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

My nephew! Seriously, I have the smallest family (only ones I'm in touch with regularly are my brother, dad and stepmum) and my brother had a baby almost a year ago. I wasn't broody before he came along, I was super excited, but NOTHING prepared me for the intense rush of absolute unprecedented love I felt for my nephew when he was born, I was on a natural high for weeks after the day he was born and I met him. I have not much in common with my brother and even less reason to see him since our mum died at Christmas but Finley gives us a reason to see each other and just makes me so happy. Walking around town with him on my hip looking at stuff and watching him take in the world and laugh at things is one of the happiest times I've ever had. He's amazing, and just the thought of him makes me smile and feel warm inside.
Every story needs to have an ending, we might as well give up all this pretending and clear the air...

I don't have happy thoughts.

My mind is a windowless room filled with despair and no escape from the torment of this world. Depression sings its lonely song in the corner, near a frail light, so I can always detect its presence no matter what. Happiness is a mere theory, and everyday I move further away from its proof. The thought of death only brings a sense of ease that it will end soon enough, but it will take forever to get there. Life is a cruel joke, and it makes up the walls of this meaningless existence.

I think.

Sure, that's not a problem, just rip me away from my memories further. I mean, yeah go for it, no worries.

Well stated.  I have three nephews and a niece, and they are a constant joy(though they are all teens and young adults now)

Yup. I have 3 nephews and 2 nieces.  The youngest is graduating high school this year.  Time sure does fly.

I'll have to echo Peter Pan here and also go with my child as my happy thought.  Or specifically, when he swings around his toy lightsaber and goes "I have blue lightsaber like Luke Skywalker!" or holds his toy basketball while watching Laker games and goes "Oh! Lakers! Make a basket! Come on!"

Sorry about it!   We're not huge baseball fans though, just like to go to games because they're fun, and we actually end up going to Angel games more because the stadium is closer to me.

My happy thought (And bear with me on this for a bit) is getting married and trying to have a baby with my wife, but for whatever reason, it doesn't take immediately. We try everything, but nothing seems to work for us, and finally, after two years or so, some miracle happens and she gets pregnant. Nine months later, she gives birth to a healthy baby boy.

We then proceed to raise him speaking in nothing but British accents until he's about five, when his speech patterns would have been fully imprinted in him, then we can go back to our regular voices and raise a kid who speaks British, because really, can you name me anything that would be cooler than that?

If I make him think he's British, then he'll be too polite to hate me. If anything, it'll just make him try harder in school to work for my love.

If anything, he'll be grateful that his parents gave him an accent that will morph him into a bona fide chick magnet.

Yeah, this guy gets it.

Trust me, aramathemawhatever, when reading any post by me, just know that I consider "Funny" to be the driving attribute in it, far above "Truthfulness", "Not offending other people", or "Pooper grammar".

Every girl I get with says that in bed.

And it happens before I am in the bed with her.

Dang you LHK
