Mucinex for singers?
« on: March 27, 2011, 05:03:25 PM »
I absolutely can not keep my throat clear. I've been seen by lots of doctors and specialists, to no avail.
An online doctor said he thinks it's probably that I make excessive mucus, and he recommended trying Mucinex. Do any of you singers use it?

Use a neti pot. Simply put, its amazing. I get sinus infections non-stop, and this thing has saved me a lot of unnecessary hassle and extended sickness bouts.

How often do you use it, Mike?  I'm using one just about every morning now.  When I get sick, it creeps into my chest and hangs on for ever.  Hoping using the neti pot regularly will help keep all that at bay.

Yeah, almost everyday. It's a real life-saver. The only time I can't is when my cold stuffs my nose so bad that the water doesn't even get through my nasal passage.

I have one that I try to use; I'll get on a kick where I use it once or twice a day, but it's easy to fall off the wagon. However, even when I was using it all the time, it didn't do anything towards clearing up my throat.

I suffer from this constantly. Nearly permanently have a lot of phlegm in my throat. It's probably why I don't talk so much in IRL  :lol Doctors said it's an allergy to dust-mites...which are..unfortunately everywhere. Taking nasal sprays didn't help, now trying allergy drops. I might look into mucinex or neti pot if that doesn't' work either  :(
on par with the anguish one would have from getting unconsensually bent over and buttloved.

Neti pots are amazing.  I'm not a singer by any means, but when I'm sick, they work amazingly.  If I were a singer, I'd definitely use one all the time.

I just picked up something at Walmart called Mucous Relief Sinus. It's more less a little weaker formula of Mucinex, but I didn't have to show my ID and sign away my first born to get it. I guess Mucinex D, which is the one I need, is the one that retards use to make drugs from and I didn't feel like waiting at the pharmacy. I think it's working, but I want to give it some more time before I know for sure. I'll keep you posted.
