https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovV7v2XYJAI (18min video, yeah another TED)

I watched this and it caught me completely off guard. Usually when there's something like this it's in development, still years down the road, but the majority of that stuff has already been done. Even odder is that nobody seems to know about it.

I was going to write a blog post about it, but I don't even know where to start thinking about it, let alone what conclusions to draw. Would you want a customized dog? Or kid?

It's awesome. If my kid isn't a half gryphon/half manbearpig who's eight feet tall and can communicate with computers telepathically, then I can't love him.
HOLY MARY MOTHER OF GOD!!!!!  THIS is why LHK is the President of Awesome.

Why is everything you post the best thing ever said?  :lol

LHK is beyond EPIC.

Holy shit.  I lost it at the robo-bugs.  That's so cool.

It definitely raises some serious ethical questions, but at the same time, it's just so damn cool.
I'm not sure how literal 'God created man in his own image' is, but it would be pretty crappy if there was a god but he died a while ago of appendicitus.

I have 9 of the fish at the 6:00 mark!

I am all for modifying animals, especially if it can benefit humans.
