Dream Theater Day

Talking to some folks on twitter, and we thought it would be cool to start a Dream Theater Day. I wanted to get some more suggestions before declaring it though. Current candidates include May 5 (which is 5/8), there's the Dream Theater Day in Utah which is July 30, there's March 6 (first album release), and June 1 (Majesty Demos).

Any other suggestions?

I'm pretty sure he was talking about the close proximity of the days when he mentioned the double celebration, not that they are on the same day. Similar to if your birthday were 3 days before Christmas.

i dont think the OP was referring to the time signature 5/8, so much as he was referring to the 5 and 8 theme of Octavarium that spreads across the 2 albums the preceded it and followed it

There's ALL KINDS of things we could do on Dream Theater Day:

Does he really work for Home Depot, or is that a joke?  I only ask because I live in the same town as Chris Collins, according to his band's MySpace page.  Might be worth popping into Home Depot next time I go past.

I like May 8 because of 5/8 but not all countries can participate.  I also like June 30 since that already is Dream Theater Day.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Shhh... if the fans want to start a DT day on may 8th, maybe as a way to make the day special, they will wait to announce the drummer on that day!

Actually, I started writing that as a joke about not wanting to wait that much longer to get the announcement, but I might actually take the certainty of may 8th over the chance that they'll announce it even later than that.

Total appreciation for the band lol, I done that last year, and I listened to every DT song that day  :metal but it wasn't 5/8/2010 or 8/5/2010, I have my own ^^
