Hyperlinks
« on: March 02, 2011, 04:15:58 PM »
I want to use them from time to time and don't know how. I was originally going to make a thread and ask you guys how to do it, but I thought for the energy I waste doing that, I could just google it and not waste anyone's time.
However, the how-to's I found were in computer language, and I need help in English!
So, how do I do it please?

I don't really know what you're asking for actually. A hyperlink is just this

Just copy & paste the URL, highlight it, then click the "insert hyperlink" button.

Maybe what I'm after isn't called a hyperlink. I am pretty stupid when it comes to pc. Sometimes I see people posting in discussions, and one of the words they use in their post is made to take you to a link that they're referring to, for example, 'click here for more details'...and they'll have the word 'here' set up so that you can click on it and go to the page they're talking about.

They might be using html to make the hyperlinks. My html might be a little fuzzy but I believe a html code for a hyper link is
<a href="URLHERE">text here</a>

...although there might be another easier way   :lol
I never really use them really

Hyperlinks thread

This is an example.
Code: [Select]
Hyperlinks thread
I just figured it out again, I remember how that works now.

Right, from the top...

Say you wanted to link the word "purple" to www.purple.com. In the context of the sentence - "My favourite colour is purple."

1. Write the sentence.
2. Where you want the hyperlink to begin, type . So, in this case, it would go directly before the word "purple." Without a space.
3. Where you want the hyperlink to end, type . Again, no space.

So...

My favourite colour is purple.

...comes out as...

My favourite colour is purple.

URL=(website!) at the start, /URL at the end. Both in square brackets. Piece of cake.

Close! You just need "url=" in front of the webpage. url=www.moonsafari.se.
