Yeah, I don't even know what's up with Jem anymore. I pretty much don't expect another Frost* album in my lifetime.

Yeah, neither do I. He always seems to be enamored by his grandiose plans for a new album, but then he so ridiculously oversizes them (seriously, double album?) that he find himself utterly overwhelmed by the undertaking.

I figured he'd just be too busy rebuilding his studio for the 8th time or so.

Look forward to new music.

When I first heard Black Light Machine, my first thought is this would be a great skating rink song.  I thought about giving the local skate rink dj a copy.

I'm not getting my hopes up on this until we have a release date. I've made that mistake before

Ditto... Even a release date doesn't encourage me, because didn't 6 Minutes in September initially have a Sept-2014 target?  Plus, Jem has dissolved the band on more than one occasion.

That was probably a completely different set of songs or ideas he had at the time. IIRC, it was originally a double album or a concept album or both, but this doesn't seem like either. If anything, this new album is structurally more like Milliontown, and if it sounds anything like it, I'll be very happy!

Jem said in a recent podcast (within the last month) that the sound of the album was more like Milliontown than Experiments in Mass Appeal.  They're both great but I give the edge to Milliontown, so this makes me happy.

(Thanks ariich for directing me here. Tried searching but this thread didn't show up there.)

I've discovered Frost* recently, and this week just past I purchased Milliontown. The 26-minute title track ends with one of the most powerful instrumental breaks I've ever heard. A real energy and drive to proceedings. And their documentary videos are hilarious to watch as well. A real bunch of characters.

On the new album, there have been updates as recently as yesterday, and work seems to be going ahead with it. Also, nice to see quite a few DTFers are appreciative of this band, looking through this thread.  :)

Think this is worth pointing out. From Frost* on Twitter:

We're finally going to release our first full album of new music since 2008 in May this year. Thank you all for being so very very patient.

Many probably will still be like "I'll believe it when I have it in my hands", but this feels very positive.
