Small venue full of geriatric prog fans (it was rather sad really)

Wtf? It's because you didn't go to a Frost* show, you went to RoSfest, a very nice progressive rock festival. NEARfest has the same general crowd and I'm not sure what it so sad about it.

I really only enjoyed Milliontown, but it's very sad news. I hope Jem finds his way out of the darkness.

On a positive side note, as someone mentioned, if this increases the chances of more Kino material, then this sadness will bring something good with it

The sad part was that it showed that prog is really a rather moribund genre. It was old fucks mostly who were ranting about how prog needs to have flutes and stuff.

I don't really see the big deal, you get people that closed-minded at all gigs/festivals.

True, but in regard to the earlier geriatric comment, that is probably referring to how many hardcore prog fans are aging males who want prog that sounds very 70ish, or something like that.  I remember when I saw The Flower Kings in late '06, I made the observation to the friend who went with me that I had never seen so many middle-aged fat guys at a concert before. :lol

Btw, Jem is writing a new Frost* track and there'll be one Christmas gig (John Mitchell, Craig Blundell and Nathan King). So not all hope is lost.  :)

This doesn't necessarily mean they're getting back together.  It could just be a one-off, like The Hush Sound's new tour dates seem to be.

Get the band's last release, the live album The Philadelphia Experiment, which features Nick D'Virgilio on drums! It's got a live set that covers both studio albums, and after the live show, on the 2nd disc is "The Dividing Line". I'm listening to the live set right now, actually!

Also, the "Intro" track is totally worth the price of the set alone! Okay, maybe not really, but it's hysterical and a great way to open a show!

New Frost* album!!

https://jemgodfrey.blogspot.com/2011/09/where-were-we.html

Quoting some paragraphs:

Quote
So with that in mind, once I've completed the Losers album (going very well by the way - dead pleased), I shall be simultaneously working on my "1 in 4" project as well as...and this is what I suspect you'll most want to hear ;)

...a third Frost* studio album!!

Yes, I'm dusting the old cow down again for another lap of the block. I know it's been an on/off thing for nearly 8 years concerning me and this shebang and I sincerely thank you (those of you who have managed to cling on to the rollercoaster ride of my relationship with this ever evolving troupe) for your patience, but I feel that after a full year off, I'm back in the zone and there's some more music to be made.

I did stress at the end of last year that it was only a hiatus by the way. See? I'm learning! :)

As yet I have no idea of the form, shape, personnel or sound of this new album, but it will definitely be Frost* shaped. I'll once again be making Frost* reports available online during the process and it'll no doubt be a bloody madhouse throughout, but that's Frost*. That's what it is.

I hope you'll indulge me once again, in return I aim to bring you the best Frost* album yet. This is my Jon Pertwee album in Dr Who parlance. However I shall try to avoid any Venusian Aikido during it's production.

Yes.
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A.
