I still have the soundtrack to the movie sitting around somewhere on CD.

Oddly enough, I remember watching the movie all the time, but can't really remember actually watching the show.

I remember near the ending of the first season, where they needed to go to (the mountain?) the place to fight the last 'boss', the clown.
And it was like... when they all took different paths etc, I remember Wargreymon holding off the last boss until Matt came with Metalgarurumon etc. =D
Was so badass.

Season 2 was also good (not great as the first one), but it seemed like they started to loose the concept more and more.
The whole concept in the first season was just epic, involving the real world too much made it less interesting.

Also, Hikari + Takeru ftw.

Who? Looks like they got different names in the German dub as well.

(But I think I know who these two are.)

I was an avid gamer of the Digimon World around 5 years ago. Completed the game several times and with all the medals. Several times I defeated Machinedramon (the ending boss) without using any items and once I brought a max stats Megadramon to kick his ass. Good times. The mini-games were also cool. Especially I liked the curling and treasure hunt, the arena was also awesome.

Oh and the sight of digivolving in the animated series along with the music was just so badass. Although I do think that every new version was progressively worse: digimon>>>digimon2>>>>>>>>>digimon3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>digimon4 etc.

It's not stuck in my head because the song sucks. :neverusethis:

I wish I was more into Digimon as a kid. The few times I did watch it, it seemed really epic.

Well, I don't think any1 disputes that the digimon anime carries much deeper and meaningful themes than just wandering through the woods for 20 episodes in a row with Rocketwerps vs twerps all the time. Then 3 episodes of Ash getting a gym badge.. then more crap about becoming a pokemon master

About 1/30 episodes are actually really good in pokemangs

You sir, are my idol.  :hefdaddy
I never managed to complete the game, despite spending a crazy amount of time trying.
Somewhere along the way, I said to myself "this game is hard, considering what age it is for", and I was actually quite pro at games (for my age), so I strongly doubt that someone else during that time would've completed it.
Now I gotta admit that I feel a bit for trying again, but sadly I've lost the game somewhere in the apartment, and I doubt I'll ever find it again.
Still, I managed to get to the mountain behind the town, which is the last 'place' if I don't remember it wrong, never managed to kill any bosses there, probably because I never had any Digimons strong enough. :/ They always died!

Was Digimon World the game on PS1? That one where you need to take your digimons to take a shit? Good game.

Yeah that's the one.
I remember 'skipping' that part early on in the game (didn't think it was important), but ending up with Sukamon all the time was just...  :lol

You know Zantera, I had the luxury of having a friend who was also very good and had completed the game before. If you ever get around to playing it again then I suggest that you save all the chips that you collect along the way until you go to the mountain. I'm a 'flawed idol' because I used gamefaqs to get some of the medals though. I was very good at raising ultimate digimon. When I played it for the last time, that was around 2 years ago just for old times sake, I got an ultimate with my first digimon.

Shitting was also awesome, especially with the big ones who really took a dump.

I guess I was too young to get the mechanics right.
I dreamed of getting like Greymon/Meramon (just 2 examples), then getting some of the pro-ultimates, but I never really managed to get lucky.
I did manage to get some ultimates, like Vademon (the flying saucer), Metalgreymon (a few times, probably my most pro), Monzeamon (not sure about the spelling, but the bear by using Numemon + the suit), also got Andromon, Giromon, and Metalmamemon OR Mamemon. (not sure)

Sadly it felt like I spent all the time at the gym to get a pro Digimon, then whenever I got lucky and got (lets say an Ultimate), I only had 1 or 2 ingame-days to do story-stuff, before they died. :P

@Zantera: Time was also an issue for me. I just needed to make it quickly through the mountain. Which was difficult because you had to defeat 2-3 digimon in a row before making it to the final boss. You've got quite an impressive list of digimon there. Did you know that you only get Vademon if you're like really old? How old were you actually at the time? I was 13 and I tried the game for the first time a couple of years earlier. Giromon was a really useful ultimate. Small but quick and agile. Had good weapons as well.

I was around 10 or 11 at the time I think, it came out in 2000 or something (was 9 then), but didn't get it until a year after or something.
Only got Vademon and Giromon one time or something, I guess my problem was that I didn't know what stats to train for (to get certain Digimons), so many ended up dying on Champion-level, cause I never reached any 'limits' for certain ultimates.

That's the thing I loved a about digimon was the emotion in the show. Pokemon lacked that, is it sad that they talk about pokemon dying yet I wanted to see an episode of one dying.

I remember when MagnaAngemon showed up at the end of the one of the seasons of the anime when I was a kid and smileing in my pants like a fiend. Oh man, that episode was epic.

I was also a big fan of the movie. A buddy of mine had the video game but I only saw him play it a couple of times and I never tried it myself.

Yeah the last huge fight against Piedmon was pretty awesome.
What I loved when I watched it a few years back as a kid, was that TK rarely had his Digimon digivolve, so for the big fights you knew that something was about to happen, like with Devimon and on the end.

The Digimon TV series was better than the Pokemon one but it was the other way round for the games.

This.

I recently started rewatching Digimon, actually. About midway through february, but I haven't watched much. I'm like 3 episodes into the second season.

I'm almost done with S2, not really sure if I'll continue though.
S3 and forward seem so different from the earlier, and I'm not quite sure if I might enjoy it as much.
Has anyone here actually seen Tamers? :P

Yeah, Tamers is the third.
I really love the whole 'idea' behind the first two seasons, the character are great as well, and the plot. Reading briefly about the following seasons, they don't seem as interesting.
