The first album is good; it's a shame that there's only three songs, though.

I have it mostly to complete my collection. It is nowhere near the level of their later albums.

Do you know if there's going to be a bonus track in the Japanese release?

Yes according to NVD.
He posted this on the PM-X Board;

The Japanese version will have a bit more Marty stuff than the other versions (he is extra popular in Japan). The European version has the cover song with my daughter on it plus a few more Poland and Broderick bonus tracks.

Sometimes a bonus track is better than some of the songs on the main track list. It happens, but it's rare. But it happens. But it's rare...

I love Damaged. I think it's better than the new tunes put out by Dream Theater and Circus Maximus. It's also a dollar on Bandcamp if you guys would like a CD quality version.

That was the best Megadeth song I've heard in years.

Seriously, this sounds like Rust in Peace-era Megadeth, with Ray Alder on vocals and background synths. Me likey. :hat

Wow, you guys aren't kidding!  Total Megadeth vibe.  I REALLY love the album cover.  So simple, yet powerful.

I wonder how Bernie is doing.  I feel like we haven't heard anything in a while.

I like Damaged more, but both songs are awesome.  Looking forward to this release big time.  I think the album cover is great.  Sometimes, the simpler the better which is the case here.

I don't care for the "happy ending" line, but the rest was OK.

I don't like this song as much as Thirty Silver, but its still pretty good. This album has a lot of potential, and may even dethrone The Fullness of Time.

Don't really like any of the songs so far. :-[ They're just not original at all. Still looking forward to the album though.

So excited for the new album!  I discovered Redemption sometime after This Mortal Coil was released, so this is my first fresh album release.  I've listened to Damaged several times but the other new ones just once (mainly to keep release day as cool as possible).

I'll probably wait and buy on amazon on Friday.  I want the physical cd so I hope they have a thing to download immediately when you order the disc.  If not, I'll probably just buy the mp3.

Awesome year for music with new DT and Redemption.

Mine is being shipped from Best Buy.  :metal  I like what I have heard, but 20 + minute tracks are normally hit or miss.

I finished my first listen, and, overall, my impressions are positive. Most of it has yet to stick, but I am not worried; Redemption albums have always taken numerous listens to digest. My initial favorites are Slouching Towards Bethlehem and The Center of the Fire.

The epic was pretty good; it's too early to comment on its cohesiveness, but there are a bunch of memorable sections, and it has the emotionally powerful sort of ending every Redemption album since Fullness has displayed.

I'm not yet sure how it compares to the previous four albums, but I would not be surprised if this makes my top 2. I can definitely say, though, that The Art of Loss has the best leads of any Redemption record to date.

Currently on my first listen. The string of songs from Hope Dies Last to The Center of the Fire is astoundingly brilliant. The beginning of the album is slightly below that in quality, at least on first listen.

Looking forward to the epic.

Good time for this album to come out.  I have a long road trip scheduled tomorrow.

So I just finished my second listen.

So far, I am absolutely loving this album. All the shorter songs are great (though I'm not the hugest fan of the The Who cover), and every individual part of the epic is too, I'm just not too sold on some of its transitions. It might improve on future listens, but either way, I'm extremely happy with this album. A big step up from This Mortal Coil, in my opinion - that one had a few really great songs like Noonday Devil or Dreams from the Pit, but also quite a few songs that I didn't like all that much (Perfect, Begin Again and Focus, mainly).

EDIT: Also, I should mention that I absolutely love the cover. Probably my favourite of their album arts.
