I'll be at the Washington DC show. Maybe the NYC show if we can get a decent DTF meetup.

I was thinking about going to the NYC show, but its the day before the Boston one and I know I won't want to do all that driving in 2 days.  :lol

The NYC ticket is more expensive, the drive is two hours longer than the Boston show, AND I already bought my ticket for the Boston show.  :lol

Am I the only one that doesn't really think Blackfield is all that depressing? I've seen people on this forum making it out to be "teh saddest muzic evaz" but it just seemed like the usual SW style (which in itself is depressing I suppose :P ) I actually think alot of PT stuff is sadder than the material on the two Blackfield albums, especially stuff like Heartattack and Stop Swimming.
I only like ablums that I can xanascholithoun.

A lot of PT is very sad in the bittersweet, heartbreakingly beautiful kind of way.

A lot of Blackfield is very depressing in the I'm-so-miserable, the-pain-hurts kind of way.

It's one of the reasons why PT is better than Blackfield.

Though I'd much rather deal with the lesser costs and hassles of a Philly show, I have something planned for that night, so if I hit this tour it will be at the NYC show.

Not sure if Blackfield is the saddest music I own, but it's up there for sure.
Songs like Lullaby and Hello can pretty much destroy me if I'm already feeling weak, or just having a bad day in general.

Yeah. Some of the Blackfield lyrics border on emo-ness IMO. They're still enjoyable.

I wouldn't say PT are better then Blackfield, if I'm in the right mood for it, I'd take Blackfield over PT.
It's what I love the most about Steven Wilson, is that I love all his other projects equally, and sometimes depending on my mood even more then PT. :)

Some of Aviv's lyrics really bother me. I was talking to Quad about it before. SW also writes some very depressing sad lyrics, but I feel like the way he goes about it is more poetic. Aviv on the other hand reminds me of a emo kid in some of his lyrics.  :lol

And I wouldn't say the music is the most depressing thing I own, but the albums are pretty sad from front to back. I actually think "Duke" by Genesis might be the most depressing album I own.

Aviv's live performance bothers me much. His shaky voice detracts a lot from the performance IMO.

atrocious: Of a very poor quality; extremely bad or unpleasant

And I have to agree. I've gotten to the point where I can tolerate it, but his voice held me off from Blackfield for a LONG time.

Yeah there's nothing wrong with Aviv, I can think of several vocalists that have a way more "off putting"-voice.

Aviv has his good moments and his bad moments vocally, but mostly I just don't like the grating quality his voice has sometimes.
