I was never really a big Blackfield fan, and even just a few days ago I told ZBomber that my least favorite SW project was Blackfield (yes, IEM and BC included) but after hearing the news about a new album I decided to revisit the two albums and I think they are starting to click for me. Still not as good as IEM in my opinion but I think they've moved up above Bass Communion now.

Some songs that are changing my opinion of BF pretty rapidly:

"Lullaby"
"Pain"
"The Hole in Me"
"1,000 People"
"Epidemic"
"My Gift of Silence" - probably my favorite Blackfield song.
"End of the World"
space cadet, pull out.
The only thing I enjoy more than Frengers is pleasing myself anally via the prostate.
"From my butt, I can see your house..."

The problem with the Pink Floyd comparison is that the prism is actually an interesting image to look at.  The cover to BFII is an interesting image to look at.  So is the first one.  FOABP is interesting because that kid is just looking at you, and its creepy.  Its all in the eyes, there's a connection being made.  All these are very simple covers but are great at capturing the mood of the album, capturing the attention of whoever's looking at it, and they give people a piece of artwork to admire and put on their t-shirts.

The new cover?  Guy has his back turned.  Looking at the sky through a window.  Is it a nice image?  Sure.  Does it captivate and hold my attention for more than a few seconds?  Nope.

Even though Porcupine Tree is my second favorite-band, i still feel like all of SW's side-projects can be better to me, depending on the mood.

the first two songs sound like absolute garbage, the rest may be good, but overall i'm not happy with what i heard. first two album samplers gave me the chills, this one blows.

SW sounds like Phil Collins at the 2:00 mark.  But I'm not too impressed.  I'm sure they'll all be better when we hear the full songs instead of this little montage.

Pre-ordered. aegfsdgsdg I hate how much it costs to ship to the US.

And I'm not gonna listen to any of the songs until the album is released.

The samples looks good to me! :tup I have the impression that this album will have a more orchestral feel to it, with strings and whatnot.

That's not a bad thing. Anything that could be on Lightbulb Sun is amazing by default.

If it werenn't amazing, it wouldn't fit in Lightbulb Sun.

"Fuck you all, fuck you - fuck you all, fuck you; go to hell! go to hell!"

Brilliant lyrics.

That said, this sounds more up my street than the last two Blackfields, which both had moments but were overall a little underwhelming. Thought track 1 from the sample sounded a little too generic-prog, but the rest sounds like a dead cool pop album.

Can't hear much Aviv Geffen on it, at that. Which is always a plus in my book. Sounds richer, warmer, and less depressing than the previous albums. Which is fantastic.

Even if it does have a naff title.
