Can't believe Liverpool didn't win. Especially with the amount of chances Suarez alone had. I also believe the substitutions were made too late and Bellamy shouldn't have gone off. As much as I love, respect and admire Dalglish, I would really want him to start making more changes, make them earlier to save games and adopt a style of ruthless management where you are took off if you are actually poor and not kept on.

As the season has looked so far, I wouldn't be surprised if Arsenal won PL.

Three Way Football

Quote
There's an interesting article in one of the major Danish newspapers today (unfortunately not online yet, so no link) about the concept of three-way football, i.e. a match with three goals and three teams on a six-sided pitch, and how Athletic are leading the way in organizing tournaments in this "new" sport.

According to the article, the concept was thought up by a Danish artist, Asger Jorn (1914-73) as a challenge to the ordinary one-axis, two-sided way of thinking. He never wrote rules for the sport, but thought it up as a philosophical experiment.

And for some reason, somebody's decided to pick this up ahead of the 100-year anniversary of his birth in three years' time, and for some other unclear reason, Athletic become involved a few years ago.

The article quotes Galder Reguera, "event manager" at Athletic, who amongst a bunch of things says: "For us it looked like a good chance to examine how football, art, philosophy and society are interconnected. We are very interested in that sort of thing at Athletic Bilbao. For us, sport isn't just something isolated, it's connected to the culture, philosophy and society around us. In that way we're a different club, but we demand more of ourselves and our surroundings demand more than just winning football matches."

Anyway, in practical terms, according to the article there will be a tournament featuring 82 teams from the Basque Country "in a few months' time", and in the spring, hopefully a bigger tournament featuring other La Liga teams. And then in 2014, a tournament in Silkeborg, which hosts the Asger Jorn Museum, where it's planned to invite major teams from Spain and Denmark (if we can be said to have any..).

Interesting..

I've got a question for you Britts.  How was the reaction to the owners of the Boston Red Sox here in America buying Liverpool F. C. ?  And how have they done as owners since owning them?

I am not Brittish but I can say as a Liverpool fan, John Henry and NESV has been absolutely excellent as owner of the club. One of their first pieces of business was gettinf rid of Uncle Woy as manager and hiring the greatest player to ever pull on the red shirt, Kenny Dalglish as manager. On top of this, they have completely backed him and Comolli on every decision in the transfer front and have endorsed a youth policy at the club. Lets hope LFC can go down the same road as the red sox to be at the top where they belong.

This weekend has a lot of great games, in particular the two early ones today. (though the moron that came up with the idea to have them on the same time should be killed, seeing as there's only one game tomorrow, and they could have put Man United there instead)
Oh well, the games:

Everton vs Man United
Chelsea vs Arsenal
Man City vs Wolverhampton
Norwich vs Blackburn
Sunderland vs Aston Villa
Swansea vs Bolton
Wigan vs Fulham
West Bromwich vs Liverpool

Tomorrow:
Tottenham vs Queens Park Rangers

Monday:
Stoke vs Newcastle

Should be a good weekend.
I feel a bit sad that I'm gonna miss Man United, I think that Everton away will be a good game, but Chelsea v Arsenal is just too promising to not watch, and as I said, there are never two early Saturday games ever, but now there is, which sucks. :/
Then I haven't decided if I'm gonna see Sunderland v Aston Villa or Man City v Wolves, the latter is shown on a common tv-channel here, which probably means more commercial-breaks and annoying things, but again it has a top-team, so will probably see it.
Chelsea - Arsenal ofc, the biggest highlight of the weekend, and I really hope that Arsenal will win it, because I think Chelsea has started out great, and I'm sorta afraid that they will pass Man United in the table if they keep it up, Arsenal however could actually use a win, they haven't had much to cheer for (in terms of beating very good teams) lately, so I think that a win against Chelsea would boost their morale.

Yeah we've been getting back on our feet but we still can't beat any good teams, so a win would be fantastic. I'm not sure we'll get it though...

Wow, just wow.
Chelsea - Arsenal was the best game I've seen in a long long long time, that game just had everything!
And the best part, Arsenal won!  :D

Oh man, the adrenaline was seriously pumping through me during the whole game, I couldn't sit down at all, goal here, goal there, opportunities everywhere!

Oh yeah, Man United won as well... great win. :)
City-game is kinda dull, first half at least, but hopefully Man City will loose a point, not that I think so, but Wolves have at least made it through the first 45 mins.
Besides, I don't care that City dropping points will mean that I won't win money this week, if they do drop points, Man U will close in. ;)

I think Chelsea needs more players like Mata to be honest, he has really impressed me.
Gotta love short, technical playmakers, players like Hazard, Özil, Mata, Silva, Ramsey, Wilshere... not necessarily the same types on all of them, but I'm just so fascinated by midfielders who add so much in the offensive.

Yeah I am loving Ramsey for us this season, so great to have him back from injury. If we can get Wilshere back from injury as well and actually have them both playing at the same time, we'll be such a strong midfield force!

Mata is really good, his goal today was fantastic, and he gave us problems in general. Chelsea seem to be suffering from the same problems as Arsenal - strong attack and laughable defence.

Another day of football today, some great games, and I'm fairly excited about seeing some of them! :)
The games are: (as I used to do it earlier, I'll post the ones I'm gonna watch in bold, and my thought on a possible result, 1 for home win, X for draw and 2 for away win) (starting times are local, aka how they are in England)

Today:

12.45 - Newcastle v Everton (X)
15.00 - Arsenal v West Bromwich (1)
15.00 - Aston Villa v Norwich (1)
15.00 - Blackburn v Chelsea (2)
15.00 - Liverpool v Swansea (1)
15.00 - Manchester United v Sunderland (1)
17.30 - Queens Park Rangers v Manchester City (2)

Sunday:

13.30 - Wolverhampton v Wigan (1)
15.00 - Bolton v Stoke (X)
16.00 - Fulham v Tottenham (2)

Haven't decided yet if I'm seeing Man U or Arsenal at 15, normally I'd say Man U, but seeing as my dad is a Gunners-fan and we watch the same TV, we normally flip coin or something.
Pretty much all of the top teams are playing today, which might be considered both good and bad, but Tottenham are playing tomorrow at least, so that's one game I don't want to miss.
All in all, I'm hoping that Chelsea and Man City will loose points in their away games, though I honestly don't expect them to.
Oh well, also hoping to win a lot of money on the games.  ;)

In theory, all the top 6 should be winning their games this weekend, although obviously someone could well slip up (most likely Arsenal, knowing our luck).

As expected most of the top teams did fine. Liverpool threw away a couple of points, but the rest all won.

Yeah, I ended up seeing Arsenal's game, and it was by far the best (at least from what I grabbed from the highlights of the others)
Liverpool did indeed screw up, too bad City didn't loose some points as well.

Gonna enjoy some more football tomorrow, then there's a 2 week break... fml.

Bump, finally it's time for football again!
Really psyched about the games this weekend, these are the games: (games in bold are the ones I'm gonna watch myself, the result afterwards is my prediction of the outcome, 1 for home win, X for draw and 2 for away win etc)

Today:
[12.45] Norwich - Arsenal (2)
[15.00] Manchester City - Newcastle (1)
[15.00] Everton - Wolverhampton (1)
[15.00] Stoke - Queens Park Rangers (1)
[15.00] Sunderland - Fulham (X)
[15.00] West Bromwich - Bolton (X)
[15.00] Wigan - Blackburn (X)
[17.30] Swansea City - Manchester United (2)

Tomorrow:
[16.00] Chelsea - Liverpool (X)

Monday:
[20.00] Tottenham - Aston Villa (1)

Some really good games as you can see, today I will be seeing all the top-teams (Arsenal, City and United), really hoping that City will loose points, even though I think they are stronger at home, they do have Champions League next week, and maybe that will be their main-focus, Newcastle is a good team after all.
Hoping for 3 points for Man United as well, I don't think they have impressed much lately, so a comforting 3 points would be nice, hopefully 2-0 or 3-0, so that they can get some more confidence.
Chelsea - Liverpool is quite clear the big game this weekend, and I think the game can be something special.
