Need help with valve amps
« on: January 02, 2011, 09:08:13 PM »
So i'm getting a new guitar amp. I did have a shitty Marshall 15 Watt compression amp but I've always heard valve amps are far superior, and now that the Marshall has blown up on me it's the perfect opportunity. Thing is I don't really know very much about amps, so I could use some advice. I looked at getting something like a 30 -50 Watt Marshall valve amp but they're wayy too expensive, so looking at other brands I've found a couple of options, an Ashton Viper VP50 and a Laney LC30-II.

Anybody use Ashton or Laney amplifiers or equipment? And are you happy with them? Any experiences or advice would be appreciated.

Never had a problem with Laney amps. Haven't owned one personally, but a friend has had one for years. Seems like a well made and durable piece of equipment.

I have played Laney's before.  Not a bad amp.  Never heard of the other one though.
If anyone in this thread judge him; heyy James WTF? about you in Awake In Japan? Then I will say; WTF about you silly?
