I knew I wasn't going to get any points for my submission. I just thought it'd be lulzy. Okay, time for a serious submission this time.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

I considered sending that as well.

Sigz - Arts the Beatdoctor - Laughs, Drinks, Jokes, Tricks: This one is very different from the other submissions this round. Maybe a form of jazzy hip-hop?

That's pretty much what it is. Definitely check out the album, Transitions. One of my highlight discoveries from this year  :hat

This roulette certainly is going fast.

I want a bit of time to think of something good. The last two rounds I just sent something quickly but I want some points now :p. I'll try and get it out before I go to bed though.

The only song missing is Portrucci's one! Once again, great submissions all-around! :tup I assume you guys aren't annoyed by my short write-ups! I didn't want it to end up like a pile of work, it's all about fun after all! :)

Gorille: maybe since you're moving extremely fast through this, you can do a few extra rounds? like 8 instead of 6?

Round 3: Strange/weird songs. I got some sick shit this round! :D Once again, they were really hard to rank and every single song was worth at least 3 points… And BTW, I’m sorry if I don’t respond to those of you who leave descriptions with their songs. I appreciate reading them, it’s just that I can’t answer them AND do the roulette on time! :tup

5 points

Sigz - The Body - Empty Hearth: What. The. Fuck. I don’t even know what that was, but it was awesome! From the weird vocal pattern to the throat singing later on and the slow, almost drone-ish guitar riff. The way it was “mix” was really cool; the breakdowns and the variations in the songs made it interesting all the way through.

4 points

Lat - Deli Creeps - Boom Ch Ka: BOOM CH KA!! :lol This song was a lot of fun! The vocals were really diverse, ranging from a narrating tone to death growls, to downright silly whatever. This song contains a lot of awesome riffs and interesting instrumentals sections. Buckethead is really showing his talent here; I think there was even a bit of Banjo near the end!

SDN - Norrin Radd - Anomaly: I was really hoping to get some Chiptune stuff in my roulette, but I thought that it would’ve been from Sonata! Anyway, I think the correct way to describe this is Death Chiptune. What a great song. The death growls definitely fitted with the famous bleeps and bloops. Some badass riffs in there also.

3 points

Zantera - Thom Yorke - Skip Divided: I’m a fan of Radiohead but I’ve never heard of Thom solo stuff! Well, I was not disappointed. I’m a big fan of electronic beats when they’re well done, and they really were in that particular song. I loved the noises and the effects thrown around in it. The emotional vocals and the interesting lyrics really added to an already pretty good song.

Sonata - Josh Roberts & The Hinges - Nautilus:  Pretty cool song here! It sounded like some indie hard rock or something. I liked the retro feel it had. The vocal melody in the chorus was really memorable and the instrumental section, pretty awesome; Nice atmosphere and solo. It didn’t sound really strange though...

2 points

TheVoxyn - Maximum the Hormone - Zetsubou Billy: OK, so that was a pretty ridiculous videoclip! :lol Some sort of Japanese screamo metal band? Anyway, I really enjoyed this one! Great riffs, pretty cool diversity with the different singers (female and male clean, screamo, rap-like vox), and  just a fun rockin’ vibe all along.

Letters - Buckethead - Frozen Brains Tell No Tales : This song was great right from the beginning with the electronic drum/sampling going on. And then there came some really badass riffs. Great tone, feels and technique. I really need to get some more Buckethead! So far, I really liked what I’ve heard of him!

1 point

Portrucci - Bruno Spoerri - Drillin’:  This song doesn’t deserve 1 point at all, but I received 8 great songs this round…Anyway, it’s a cool electronic piece with a catchy melody going on. I loved the samples used to create the sounds, especially the rhythm part! It was maybe a bit “raw” for an electronic type of song though.

Sonata: 12 points
Sigz: 11 points
Zantera: 10 points
SDN: 10 points
Letters: 8 points
TheVoxyn: 7 points
Portrucci: 7 points
Lat: 7 points

Next round: Recent stuff. Something from the last two years(2009-2010).

I actually checked with Sonata to make sure he didn't send YOU any Norrin Radd.

The last two years will be much better round for me than just this year like Antigoon's roulette.  I should have something to send soon.

I demand all of his points for introducing him to Norrin Radd. Seriously Matt. I don't send in Mew songs. Have some class. loljk we cool

I thought that metal-riffed indie-country would be a little bit out there, but then again, it's hard to pick something whacky for a guy who's favorite genre is avant-garde.

Gorille already listens to Mew though, and Norrin Radd honestly is the weirdest shit I have outside of "Tomorrow Never Knows."

Round 4: Recent songs. Again, it was hard to make a ranking with this round.

5 points

SDN - The Dear Hunter - He Said He Had a Story: Wow. What a great, great song! The instrumentation, the production, the vocals, everything! Just an all-around well-written song. The vocals in particular were really good, and I loved the lyrics! The way it is all delivered, it’s just amazing. :tup

4 points

Lat - Psyclon Nine - Thy Serpent Tounge: Awesome. A mix of black metal and industrial, sort of. You took a good guess with this one Lat! Badass, heavy riffs with some really good screams. A bit of a wall-of-sounds kind of production, with a lot of layers. The result is great though.

Sonata - Modest Mouse - The Whale Song: The instrumentation in this song is just fantastic, from the cool bass line at the beginning to the synths and the percussions. But also the guitars, almost dissonant at times, really gave a certain color to the song. The middle section is just pure win with the different layers of vocals.

3 points

Portrucci - Kauan - Fohn: Really good post-rock. Very soothing and calm at times, and always emotional. The vocals in Russian came across really well. I really liked the cool piano bit near the end. Also, the nature sounds were fitting just right.

Zantera - 65daysofstatic - Debutante: So, I’ve received two songs from the same album this round! Two relatively different songs though. This one had a bit more variety, starting with some post-rock, some cool electronic samples and the vocals “choirs” at the end.

2 points

TheVoxyn - 65daysofstatic - Dance Dance Dance: This one had a cool drum beat with some electronic sounds and a pretty good groove all along. But while I really liked this song, it didn’t grab me like the other one, a bit like if something was missing.

Sigz - Disemballerina - Hex: Loved the heavy use of strings in this one. There was a really dark tone in this pretty sad song. I loved the subtle guitar parts too. I won’t lie, this was a very close call but I liked the other songs a little bit more.

1 point

Letters - Haken - Drowning in the Flood: Pretty good song. Cool riffs and some good ideas, especially at the middle/end of the song. However, I didn’t really liked the singer’s voice, at the first section of the song in particular. So that’s why I had to rank it lower.

Sonata: 16 points
SDN: 14 points
Sigz: 13 points
Zantera: 13 points
Lat: 11 points
Portrucci: 10 points
Letters: 9 points
TheVoxyn: 9 points

Next round (5): Epic. Interpret that as you wish, it doesn’t need to be a long song.
