Yeah man, today is fucking nuts out. I don't remember ever feeling this cold. My car turned over about 15 times before it finally fired this morning. I went outside to start it early and let it warm up for the first time ever. After 25 minutes of idle time, the engine temp gauge barely moved. Wednesday is supposed to be hella shitty.

My first thought was that -5 isn't that cold, I mean, it's -30 in Halifax right now, not including wind chill. Then I realized you people use Fahrenheit.

I feel your pain. It is cold enough to freeze joints and I have to walk to class.

It's what...about -20 Celsius? Yeah, I agree that's pretty cold. I was just confused for a second there.

I just checked the weather here again. Looks like my estimate was a bit off the mark. It's actually -18 with wind chill it feel like -29. The worst part of living in a coastal town is the wind off the ocean, which is not only constant but damn cold.

Despite how cold it is, we don't really have much snow though.

Winter is the best season.

It's -24 here (-33 with windchill).  I'm wearing wool socks, which is good, because my feet are bloody and raw from having played so much outdoor hockey.  I have a game tonight, should be good.  I've got long johns and pajama pants on under my normal pants, and a heavy sweater as well.  Planning a ski trip with family.  I love winter so much.

You mentioned hockey so I'm assuming that temperature was in Celsius and that you live in Canada. Whereabouts are you?

There are better things to waste your energy hating, but....

Anyhoo, its 30 today. Feels tropical compared to yesterday. Two inches of snow has fallen so far this morning and once again school is delayed.

They said last night that we'd get a dusting to an inch but I've got 3 inches already.  Plus big storm comming in a day 1/2.  These last 3 weeks have been brutal.

I went to class this morning and waited half an hour and only 5 other kids showed up with no teacher. We all just ended up leaving.

I have two more classes next, hope the snow/traffic is still bad and I don't have to do anything for the rest of the day.  :lol

Serious pet peeve of mine. Is it really that hard to clear off the snow on the top of your car? Is it really that hard to clear your whole car off?
I always do and it takes all of 5 minutes even if I have 2 feet on it.
You always see the jackass driving with 2 ft piled high all over there vehicle, looking though a peephole on the windshield cleared by there defroster.
I want to smack them in the head.

I especially love teasing me daughter about the weather, who lives outside of Buffalo.  I sent her a text this morning similar to my post, and her response was a very kind version of "fuck off."

I haven't gotten NEARLY what any of you gys have.  I've gotten a dusting in comparison.  With that, I'm so f*cking ready to move to some place warm that it ain't funny.  I'm already f*cking sick of this.  I don't know how you guys deal with it, I really don't.  I'd be postal in no time.

As much as I hate winter, it's not enough to make me want to leave New England. I love being where I am. I have excellent golf weather a few months of the year. I have plenty of vacation spots all withing a few hours drives. I think I might hate extreme heat more than the snow. I visited a buddy down in Florida two years back. I walked outside at 8:00am and it was already 84 degrees.... fuck that. I also actually enjoy driving in the snow. I feel like an ice road trucker, except in a Mazda hatchback.

Its rare when the coast gets more than inland(which is where I live) but that's what I am dealing with. the snow over night was absolutely nuts! It was dumping 4 and a half inches an hour at around midnight, and the winds were gusting to 50 mph.

Yeah, if it was just about snow falling I would agree. It damages homes with leaks collapsed roofs and such and kills local business making a bad economy worse.
Celebrate, have fun. :tick2:
