WDaDU remaster? (limited edition version from One Way Records)
« on: October 30, 2010, 08:51:58 PM »
Hi all.

Using the search function, which actually helped for once, I can see that there isn't too much of an improvement on the remaster.  However, I don't have the original anyway, and I can get them at about the same price.  What do you guys think--since it isn't a price issue, should I just get the remaster?
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. G. Sertillanges

I think all there is is the remaster and to my understanding, it isn't much of a remaster anyway. I found a version at my local CD store that was personalized by Dominici with a recent photo too. I didn't buy it, but I wonder if Zep owns one of these.

I actually prefer the original to the remaster.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

So what's the difference, Hef?

There isn't much of a difference that I can notice.  But to me, the original, I don't know, sounds better.  Clearer, warmer.  I don't know, tough to put a finger on.  But better, to my ears.

I mean, the difference isn't enough that the remaster was worth it.
