I've been listening to The Devil and God.. about ~7 times over the last weeks, and while I really like it, it hasn't gone to the point where I love it to death or anything. Not quite sure what the major appeal here is, maybe it's in the lyrics or maybe the album just hasn't clicked fully yet. If I had to pick favorite songs from the album, I would say "Sowing Season" and "Welcome to Bangkok", the rest of the songs are pretty good though.
I also have Deja Entendu and Daisy, I could always try them and see if they click easier, and if so, then I can always listen to The Devil and God.. a few times more. ;)

I was at the second London night as well, it was a really good gig. I lost a bit of interest in the middle where it was all songs from their first two albums (some of the Deja Entendu ones are really good, but I find their debut pretty dull) but the start and end of the show were epic.

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.

Those are some good lookin setlists right there.  I'm partial to Deja because it was the first album of theirs I heard so it's nice to see all those tracks in there, but it's a bummer they didn't include Jaws Theme Swimming.

Jaws is definitely my favorite by them, and from all the setlists that I've seen I don't think they play it very often.

Bump.
Been listening to Brand New quite a lot recently, I must say that they have grown a lot, maybe a combination of the music and the lyrics really sinking in. Devil & God is a fantastic album, and I wouldn't hesitate to give it a 5 out of 5. Favorite songs would be Luca, Handcuffs, Welcome to Bangkok, Sowing Season and Limousine, but there are a lot of other fantastic tunes on it as well. The only song I'm not totally hooked on would be "Not the Sun", a song I enjoy except for the chorus. (it's not a bad chorus, but for some reason it reminds me of another song I can't name, that used to bug me a while back)
As people have already stated, the lyrics are really strong, especially on Handcuffs, which is a really beautiful closer.

I've listened to Deja Entendu once now, don't really have much of an opinion yet. I'll also check Daisy out.

I know everyone around here nuts all over Devil & God and rightly so cuz it's a great album and I love it, but Deja is still my favorite.

I've been spinning Daisy a lot lately after not listening to them for a while. The weather has been really overcast and windy, and it just fits everything so perfectly. Oh how I've missed you, Jesse.

They're a great band. Got me through high school and my parents' divorce. TDAGARIM is probably the most important album in my personal life that I've ever heard or owned or whatever.

Well, it looks like my last post about new material no longer matters. They didn't record in April like they had planned, and have no plans on doing so anytime soon. They do plan on getting something out in 2013, but who knows when that will be (or if we'll ever get there).

On that note, shit's about to get hella controversial:

1. Deja Entendu
2. Daisy
3. The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me
4. Your Favorite Weapon

You should definitely check out their other two records. There's some really good stuff you haven'tt heard yet, specifically Seventy Times 7 from Your Favorite Weapon.

1a. Deja
1b. Devil & God
3. Daisy

I haven't heard very good things about the first album...

It's still a good album, it's just not as good as the later three. Check out the track Seventy Times 7.

So I saw them today. Fucking amazing. The highlight for me was You Won't Know. Was given a few solos and a weird Phantom of the Opera section. Loved it.

I love Daisy. It's never going to take over the number one spot, but man is it a great album. I know that Jesse personally doesn't really care for it very much, but that's not gonna stop me from loving every minute of it.

Last time I heard there were no plans to record until 2013. They recently left their label and announced that they would release the next record independently.

Well I be seeing this later tonight on CNN?

On topic, I hope they release an album late this year or an EP at least. June 19, 2014, "A lot has gone on the last few weeks. Some writing, some recording, some new gear, some studio building. We will update you more soon"

I'm kind of in a state with Daisy where it's not my favourite Brand New album but lately I'm listening to it more than the others.
