I guess I just don't see what you guys see in Elysium, it all sounds pretty average to me. I thought Nemesis was a gigantic step up.

If anything it just shows how strong the bands post Tolkki material is.

Sounds like a leftover from Nemesis - not particularly impressed tbh.  Hopefully this is "token single" material.

Gonna withhold judgement on the album, which is still going to be an automatic buy, but not a big fan of the new song (at least first impression).  I still have hope the album as a whole will kick ass though.

I didn't hear the Nemesis vibe until the chorus which was a direct copy of anything off that album really.  It's alright, and I think will be fine within the album.  I get a bit of a Cain's Offering vibe in the verses too.

Still miles better than Tolkki.

Yeah, but that's such a ridiculously low benchmark that it shouldn't even enter the discussion.

Also song is alright, but nothing outstanding.

Exactly this..

I didn't hear the Nemesis vibe until the chorus which was a direct copy of anything off that album really.

0:47 "It-seeems-liiike-yeees-teeer-day..." is unfortunately a copy of 1:45 from Nemesis, the song, "Caa-liiing-ooout-fooor-power..."

Still miles better than Tolkki.

No way.. At least not this particular song..

This is a very good album. Not that many truly great songs, but considering that Nemesis had a few mediocre tracks, this one is a slight improvement. I love Feeding the fire and Shine in the dark, and the closing epic track is very... well, epic.  :metal

Starts of pretty lackluster, but gets better towards the end.

Fire In Your Eyes is great, and The Lost Saga is a suitably epic end to the album.

Probably my third favourite of the post-Tolkki albums; it might pass Polaris with a few more listens. No way in hell that it'll beat Elysium though.

Kade, what do you think of their new album? I may jump in on it.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Haven't heard it yet man.  That's one of those album that I usually can't find instore and will have to order online.  I haven't got my ass around to ordering it yet so probably a couple weeks before I hear it.  The songs I've listened to are good and all, but certainly nothing special.  The comments here aren't surprsing.

Make sure you get Polaris, Elysium and Nemesis first.  If you love them, I'm sure the new one will suit too.

I would get Nemesis Tim if you don't have it - Eternal sounds like Nemesis leftovers to me.

Bought on release day. Following Elysium and then Nemesis i personally find Eternal to be a bit of a let down. Maybe more listens will change my mind.

On a positive note on my first listen the synth sounds made me think of Rocky IV in places so i ended up watching that and that rocked.

Yeah, is not what I was expecting either..

I do like these songs though: My Eternal Dream, Lost Without a Trace, Feeding the Fire, Man in the Mirror and The Lost Saga.. But, again, they're only good.. Not what I was expecting after Nemesis..

I'd say that the album is on the same level that Cain's Offering's Stormcrow.. And that shouldn't happen...

Stratovarius played Episode in full at 6 shows in Finland recently, and I attended one of them. Here's my report!
