Their new video was pretty great. Tarja and Sharon have a nice harmony that I really enjoyed....immensly.

Yes, this needs to happen already. I've been into them for about 10 years now. So, it's long overdue. Not to mention, I need to see if Sharon is as devastatingly beautiful in person.

I wouldn't hold your breath. I'm pretty sure they will continue to ignore their fans over here. I have lost so much respect for this band for how they have treated us over here. If they truly do not want U.S. fans, I'm happy to oblige.

Yeah, it's rather shitty. Bands like Lacuna Coil and Nightwish (even Delain now) have all been here.

Have they ever publicly addressed the matter at all??

I agree, it probably is a money thing. Though they may have a good US following, i'm thinking that maybe we're in such disparate areas that a full-fledged tour of the US wouldn't sell as well as they would hope. I hope i'm wrong and they'll decide to come here, but the reality is that i know it's expensive to mount a US tour.

The touring issue is a big part of it, but it's not just that. We get snubbed in just about every way. Black Symphony: none of the U.S. versions contained the bonus DVD with the Wacken show. An Accoustic Night At The Theater: no U.S. release at all. The Q Music Sessions: no U.S. release. What About Us?: U.S. release, but distribution is so poor you can't find it anywhere. They just aren't supporting this market at all.

Maybe because this market is pretty shit at supporting prog-metal in general, let alone symphonic-metal?

It won't be the band making those decisions, it'll be their label. If they don't think the US market is strong enough to make it worth it, then they won't bother.

It's hard to say who ultimately makes the decision, as that can vary significantly from band to band. But that doesn't matter. No matter who is making the decisions, the result is that the band is pratically invisible in the U.S., which is frustrating to U.S.-based fans. And it is a trend that has increased rather than decreased, which is all the more frustrating. Whoever is to blame, some of us over here are very frustrated.

But Murder is a great song that really showcases her poppy vocal melodies, if the pop vocals sang different lyric subjects other than love and sex then I'd be glad to buy an album.

Yes The Black Symphony is easily the best live concert vhs/dvd/blu-ray that I have ever seen and the benchmark for everyone else.
That said as good as the 5.1 sound is, the audio of the concert isn't the best.

I doubt if it has anything to do with the band.
Unless your a mega band such as The Rolling Stones, U2, Bon Jovi and alike, bands usually do not decide where they tour.
Agents and promoters book tours and then offer them to band management for consideration.
If no one is offering WT gigs and tours in the USA, how is this the bands fault?

There is no money to be made slogging it out playing the USA to a few hundred people per night in small shitty venues.
The old days of touring to support an album are gone, touring the USA costs a lot and no one is buying albums these days.

The Unforgiving was available on release day over here, but yeah, when is the last time they were in the US?
