I'd have a word with the label if possible, they don't seem to have even sent the discs to the sellers yet.

My copy is on its way to me, so by now they certainly have...

Sorry, I didn't think to look at your profile. Never seen you post around here either so I guess I might be able to use that as an excuse too... :p

This is really frustrating me. Those distributors don't know what they are putting me through!!!

Okay, some stuff/criticism/appreciation
-DROP THE GROWLS. They always seem out of place (especially in Streams) and to be honest they're not very good growls.
-The cheesy sections don't flow well with the songs at all; they only end up detracting from the music.
-Hello, unfitting keyboard solo at the end of Drowning In The Flood. Only flaw of a nearly-perfect song.
-Celestial Elixir is definitely too long; could cut down on the instrumentals a bit and it just feels too dragged out.
-Admit it, the riff for the second half of Eternal Rain is stolen from Innocence Faded (I made this connection on my very first listen <_< It really bothers me tbh.)

Now the appreciativeness!
-Point of No Return is good as a whole, no real standout moments though. The cheesy bit in the intro and the growls bring it down a bit though.
-Streams is really fun in the first half; I don't here stuff like that anymore. I also love the section right after the obnoxious growling part; really nice. Every time I hear the ending it seems a little abrupt though.
-Aquarium is awesome, the chilling intro and the verses have an awesome dark sound to them. Chorus is awesome as well. And the speed up to a more cheery sound... flawless transition. And the twin guitar solo at around 7:10 is really memorable even for its simplicity.
-Eternal Rain... love the intro melody and the energy in the first half. Already gave my opinion on the stolen riff section <_<
-Drowning In The Flood is so rockin' and heavy in the first half; can't help but love it. Great chorus as well. And the keyboard break in the middle is beautiful and chilling. And then the ending chorus... just wonderful. Still not a fan of the ending at all though :/
-Sun... it's kinda just there. Slower song and not as memorable though the first verse I remember being pretty nicely done. Maybe this is that song that you need to listen to 10+ times to be able to get it; had that same problem with PoS's The Perfect Element; couldn't remember it at all on early listens but it's now one of my favorite songs by the band.
-Celestial Elixir has possibly the best chorus ever. Don't argue with me here. It's amazing. Like I already said it goes on for a bit too long but it's great musically and works really well as a closer; the ending to the song feels like a real end to the album.

And overall this is an awesome album; glad I bought it! ;)

Also, HAHA at you who don't have the album.

I see what you're saying with some of the points, though the ones I disagree with:
- I like the growls in Streams. That section is really doomy and rocking, and it flows well once you get used to it (as is always the case with Haken).
- The solo at the end of Drowning in the Flood is rocking. I think it finishes the song off really nicely.
- I absolutely ADORE Sun! Took a couple of listens to appreciate but it's just lovely and atmospheric, and is perfectly structured.

Glad you're enjoying it anyway. :D

Although I got an email from Hen's dad (Hen being the guitarist, keyboardist and all-round mastermind behind the music) saying that he bought some copies from the US and was sending me and my brother one.

:lol In fairness, my brother is going to keep the free copy as we're only getting it because he used to be in the band, though I'm clearly going to open it and enjoy it before sending it on to him in the post. :P

Oh and in answer to your question Dan, no idea about shipping yet, Hen's dad didn't know either. I really hope for Haken's sake that it starts shipping before the next issue of Classic Rock Presents Prog, as they have an article, review and advert in that, so if the album is actually available then it could be some excellent promotion for them.

Classic Rock Presents Prog is an *excellent* mag and it's always nice to see what is on the CD that it comes with. If you are in the UK you MUST get it. Being in the US I've only been able to get my hands on 3 of them.

A year maybe? It only comes out every couple of months, I've only bought three issues as well. It's a really good mag though, I highly recommend it.

I'd say stick it out a bit longer for now, after the airlines and airports get going again tomorrow hopefully things will start shipping. I'll ask someone from the band if they have a clue what's going on.

Hi guys

Sorry for not replying sooner. I was on holiday and my flights home were cancelled due to the volcanic ash cloud! We decided to embark upon an epic trek through Europe...6 days later and we're home! What a mission!

I've been told that the initial batch of CDs sold out immediately in Europe. I'm pretty sure the second batch has just arrived in the UK, so I sincerely hope everyone gets their album very soon! Thanks for waiting and not downloading it for free.

Thanks for the detailed review parama, I'm glad you're enjoying it. A bit of constructive criticism is always healthy, its good to hear some honest feedback.

The track Celestial Elixir was VERY well received during WPaPU tonight. Which reminds me, Rich, set a brother up with an interview much?

You played the whole of Celestial Elixir! haha, what a legend! Also, that pic is funny!  ;D

I probably shouldn't be saying this on here, but I can safely say that your album isn't on any of the big private music torrent trackers, your fans are too nice. And no, I wasn't going to get it if it was.

So when can we expect the next album?
