The real crime is that there is no lossless digital option. If I want a high quality recording, I have to shell out money for both vinyl and a cd. Would it be immoral to purchase from itunes, delete those, then find somewhere to download a cd rip? Just hypothetically. It seems silly to do that to me personally.

I second this. Not sure how I'm going to handle this.

Just finished listening to Crystallised at work on youtube.  I only had one ear bud in and wow, what a song. :hefdaddy  I cannot wait to buy this and crank it up in my truck.  I would love to have just the cd, but I guess that is not an option.  Will probably buy a digital download.

The worst part of the song is the gong at the end.  I just did not feel it.  I do not think he hit it correctly.

It is rather quiet, but it's also mixed fading from one side to the other. If you were listening with only one earbud, you only heard half of it.

I found out that USA release isnt until Nov.11 via reddit. meh.  I can listen on spotify and youtube at least, but in this digital age this doesnt make sense.

I was trying to joke about the part MP had on the cd.

Loving their new stuff.

But still to this day, I can't figure out whether I like the vocalist. He's good in small doses but a full album just seems too much. Strangely enough, I do think he fits the band. He just sounds....odd. Don't really know how else to describe it.

Excellent musicians, however.

his vocals annoyed me less and less the more I listened to Haken. Occasionally I still think to myself, "why did he do that?" after certain notes but the good FAR outweighs the bad to me.

I can understand why some people don't like Ross, but I've never had an issue. What is really nice to see though, is I think his vocals have gotten better with each release so far.

In terms of technical skill, I would say that Ross is good, but not yet amazing. He is, however, getting better and better all the time in that regard, and I think he's reached a very good standard. His voice is stronger, more consistent and yet more varied all the time.

In terms of his vocal style, that's very much a matter of personal preference. Personally, I love the quality of his voice, and I think it's a huge part of Haken's unique sound.

This. As far as I recall, I've enjoyed his vocals from the first time I heard them. I'll get to see how he does live when I go to see them tomorrow night  :omg: :coolio :metal

It's a shame that they hardly ever play outside of the UK, and when they do it's usually in a handful of German cities that they seem to visit over and over again.

Ok folks, help me out here.  Will the EP be released on iTunes or do I have to order the CD?

Come up to RoSfest with me, you'll get Haken, Enchant, and just announced, Spock's Beard.

Apparently it will, but not until Nov. 11th.

Gettysburg, and I will say, if you've never been, it's a FANTASTIC place to visit, especially if you have any interest in history.

First weekend in May, 2014. www.rosfest.com

Edit: And while I am not familiar with the bands (other than those mentioned) I have never been really let down by anyone I've seen there, it really is quite an experience. There is 1 band left to be announced, and as they are going on AFTER Enchant and closing the festival I expect it will be a good one.

Hey, hold it up there! I'm the second runner-up for record holder in Mainland Europe of seeing Haken live. :P
At least, that's what they told me last time I saw them.

I don't live in London, it's not fair. Yet I was at their first international show. Ha!
