I feel like no one talks about The Bedlam in Goliath or Octahedron in this thread. It's all pre-Thomas Pridgen talk. To be quite honest, Goliath is my favorite Volta album.

Octahedron was my first TMV album, actually. I really like it. Seems much more slow-paced and "quieter" than FTM, but it has a lot of catchy hooks.

That's the album that I've listened to the least. I don't have money to go out and buy new albums and I haven't for a while now, so getting new music has been put on a hold.

Octahedron is the one album I listen to the least, I should listen to it more, I really like Goliath though!

Right dude? Thomas Pridgen is a maniac on that album. That's really the album that got me into TMV. I love the speed and energy. It just makes me want to go insane... in a good way.

Pridgen's a monster, but I'm still partial to Jon Theodore's stuff in De-Loused.

I see where you're coming from. Pridgen goes insane, where Theodore has a more methodical approach. The albums are so different it's almost a new band.

Just thought that I would post this. Dave is a fucking maniac during this song. It's pure awesome.

EDIT: Just realized I put it in as an image instead of a hyperlink. It has been fixed.

I'm suprised his sticks didn't break. He hits the snare so hard, and a bunch of the times he's getting rim shots. Splinter in the hands, arms, and face just waiting to happen. That aside, he's one hell of a drummer. He doesn't bring anything new to band (which is why they dumped him in favor of Parks), but man can he play.

So for some odd reason, I only found out today that TMV was formed by two members of At The Drive-In. I've heard plenty about them and how they were a very influential post-hardcore band. I normally don't really like that genre but I decided to check it out anyway since they share a vocalist and guitarist with TMV. To my surprise, I really really enjoyed the album.

Yeah, I really don't care for the way he sings in ATDI. Something about it...

TMV was a slow burner for me. I hated them at first, but something kept bringing me back. Now, I love 'em. Maybe the same will happen with me and ATDI, but so far, I haven't felt that need to return and listen again. Yet.

I heard TMV first, and knowing that Cedric was the singer I went in assuming it would be similar to a point, and BAM. Not at all, I could tell it was him, but it was just so different. Love At the Drive-In though.

You should definitely check out Relationship of Command, there's just so much energy. Although Omar says that it's the one album he's done that he can't listen to.
