So, I'm just doing this now because I have time.

So, the participants in this thingamajig are:

YtseBitsySpider
LieLowTheWantedMan
Birch Boy
Genowyn
Marvelous G
True Death of Life (replaced Arch Benemy who is on Vaca)
Cthrubuoy
In The Wake of Poseidon
Acid Fox
zxlkho

So, a little about my music taste:

Metallica is my favorite band
Alice in Chains are my second
I love a good grunge song (Pearl Jam, STP, and even Creed)
There is nothing better than great classic rock  (if every song in the world could be as simple yet awesome as...lets say...Take the Money and Run or Burnin for You, I would be a happy camper)
I am usually apposed to growls unless done with excellence
I actually do like "barks" which is Machine Head, Sepultura, etc.
Shred solos do not impress me. A good blues style solo in the middle of a metal song is always awesome.
I'm looking for whatever you want to give me whether it be new metal or old classic rock deep cuts or anything in between
You really won't get a classic rock "hit" by me but I look forward to songs I've never heard before by the classic rock bands
Oh, and the most important thing...I love heavy. Heavy. Heavy. Heavy. Heavy.

Ok, so that's pretty much it for my music tastes and what I expect. I will give the round whenever and you guys have 48 hours to send me a song. I'm taking this seriously so if you want my cell to send me the name of the song if you can't get on DTF, I will PM it to you. That only works for people in the US. Sorry foreigners. :P

I think thats it. I'll post the first round when Sigz posts the results for his last one. Good luck everyone.

If there is anything I missed, just tell me. :)

:metal

Lyrics don't need to be that awesome but awesome lyrics help. I hate instrumentals with a fiery passion.

I just have a lot on my plate today and I didn't know if I would get around to this and I didn't want to keep you guys waiting.

edit: ouch. Sigz has a three way tie. Hmm...might not get to this for a week because of his schooling. No worries. I'll just bump it when I need it.

Can I be second back-up?

Its really not fair to include TDoL in this.  A) You would be biased  B) Shouldn't you two already share a music collection?

I already talked to him about this. We do share Metallica as a favorite band, but, with them being pretty diverse, we have entirely different tastes when it comes to them alone. I'm still learning his music tastes...he's constantly suprising me and he hates plenty of mine.

As for him possibly being biased, I really can't judge. But like I said, we talked. (And tbh, knowing Cole? I swear, we're always competing with each other. I most likely have a disadvantage.) However, I know you guys may think I'm exaggerating or bsing you or you still think that this is unfair, so...if a lot of you really think I should leave this, I won't be offended. I was just late to be in Sigz's and 73109 happened to be the next person to do a song roulette.

I know you don't really like death metal vocals, but what are your opinions on black metal style vocals? I've found a lot of people that can't stand death metal vocals to actually dig and get into black metal vocals.  :)

Not really because they use it throughout. I'm talking about it in Earth Day by Devin Townsend or (the one song I've heard by) Nevermore's This Godless Endeavour.

...Yes?
Maybe its because I listen to them a lot, but death metal vocals and black metal vocals sound NOTHING alike to me. The only similarity is that they are distorted vocals. Death Metal vocals are normally low pitched grunts and growls while Black Metal vocals are high pitched shrieks. Its a whole different world to me.

Now everyone should send instrumentals or songs that are all growls and shrieks.  I am still disappoint you didn't go to the only Shadow Gallery show in the US.  It's not like it was far...
