That's right, the masters of epic fucking metal are almost done their new album.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abrahadabra_(album)

Two new songs on their myspace - www.myspace.com/dimmuborgir

And a crazy new video to go along with their new song Gateways.

I don't really like Dimmu but that video was hilarious. Not for the right reasons, but hey, it made me laugh.

It's only over-the-top in the same way that the opera is, which is consistent with their music; I like it.

Yeah, but as I said before, never was a fan of Dimmu's music. I just found the video to be lulzy as hell.

I like everything I have heard so far, and I don't really consider myself much of a fan of the band. This album may actually being the turning point for me.

I have fallen in love with that chick from that video. Her voice is pretty awesomely unique, and her..........presence.....in that video is great.

The only really funny thing about that video was during the spoken word section, the look on the bald guitar players face, it's just....well, even cornier than the rest of the video.

I just watched the video. Holy shit. That was so awesome. No sarcasm...that really was cool. The song was great, it was well-directed and so entertaining and over the top. I may have to check this album out.

By the way, I own a few Dimmu albums, but don't know them THAT well, but does Gateways mark the first time that Shagrath sang a few notes in a clean voice?

Snowy Shaw did the clean vocals as far as I know.

Just those few notes? Cause they really seemed to flow from Shagrath, plus Snowy was in the video, and it still showed Shagrath doing them.

Also, does anyone know if that blonde chick is on the rest of the album? She was amazing.

Oh, it very well might be. I wasn't sure what part you were referring to. Maybe some of that Chrome Division influence carried over.

Well my original question was, assuming that was shagrath singing, is that the first time he did any kind of clean vocals on a Dimmu album?

So, this album is fucking awesome. Ritualist and Born Treacherous are awesome. Gonna have to let it soak in a bit more though.

Dimmu was kind of a phase for me a few years back, and I wasn't a fan of In Sorte Diaboli, but... damn. Gateways is a really good song. I may check out the entire album. I'm going to miss ICS Vortex though :'( but they got Snowy Shaw... and Garm from Ulver... hrmm...

If I remember correctly, Dimmu Borgir are one of those bands that are no longer 'trve kvlt" anymore. So I mean, it makes sense from a black metal fan.

Well, you never know. The wording sounded like one of those "My favourite band is cooler than the rest of yours because you don't understand them" sort of statements. I was hoping it was a joke, but slightly unsure.

Misunderstanding. Do carry on.

I think Dimmu is stuck in an awkward position where their sound is too glossy for most black metal fans, and too black metal for everyone else.  At least that's my take on why they get so much hate.

My main problem with Gateways was that Shagrath did hardly any screaming, but instead did mostly creepy talking. Does he actually scream on the rest of the album more?

Edit: NVM, I had a completely different album then the actual Abhadabra album, I'm listening to the proper album now, will give feed back later.

This isn't related to Abrahadabra but the riff after Shagrath says "I am hatred, darkness, and despair" is fucking amazing. One of my top 5 favorite moments in a song.

The Serpentine Offering was one of my favorite songs first getting into Dimmu. I love blasting that song driving down the highway.

Ok so, after listening to the album a few times. It is probably my favorite album by them. I feel like it's their first time where there is no filler on their album. Every song is so damn good.

She's on this song, and the 10'th track, which is called "Endings and Continuations"
