Or Maybe J Bon could stop being such a workaholic and do less than four albums a year.

I like how JB is a blues rock guitarist and doesn't play a strat like every other blues rock peddler out there.

JB once said in an interview that he switched from being a Strat user because if you play the blues on a Strat, everyone thinks you're trying to be Stevie Ray Vaughn. He has a point there.  :lol

And nobody wants to be SRV.

HEY GAISE LISTEN TO THIS 60bpm blues jam in 6/8 time for 20 mins PLZ

:tdwn No Thanks - i'd rather chew my own fingers off.

I'd much rather listen to JB anyday than this :

^ extremely boring blues jam - the drummer looks bored as hell and I can't make it past the 2 minute mark without switching off.

Yes it seems BCC is back "in form". Their third disc just wasn't as tasty as the first two.

I actually preferred Afterglow over BCC2.

True, but it's well done, sounds great and just getting another BCC album is a nice 'surprise'.

I'm thrilled that they've gotten back together to make a new album. Nothing they do is groundbreaking, they just fill my craving for 70s style hard rock.

I'm interviewing Derek next week so if you have specific questions to ask about BCC, you're welcome.

Please ask him why he seemed so marginalized on the first album.  Like, was that a creative decision, did he join the project late, what?

I asked him a question that was a bit similar and I do have the feeling that he doesn't have a great musical freedom with BCC (and especially with BCCIV as all the songs were composed by Joe and Glenn).
To reassure you, I have listened to the whole album and there are some serious moments where Derek shines with a grand piano, an instrument that he only used in The Great Divide (in the background and I'm pretty sure it was not a real grand piano). I can't post a full review until the week of the release but I have to say that I was really pleased and surpised by that album.

Sounds like BCC. I really like these guys in theory, but in practice they mostly leave me underwhelmed.

And did anybody notice the Book of Souls gold album on the wall? Must have been Kevin Shirley's studio.

Totally agree, Glenn and Kevin wanted that Jon Lord Hammond B3 sound, yet put Derek so low in the mix or not used at all. A waste.

I saw that. Really looking forward to it. Glad they were able to carve out some time. Praying for a tour that will probably never happen. But praying.
