This album is supposed to release tomorrow 9/21.    It's got some pretty big names associated with it, but there doesn't seem to be much buzz around it and I haven't heard a lick of music...  any one picking this one up?

Or maybe everyone's jaded by these "one-and-done" supergroups like Them Crooked Vultures and Chickenfoot..

I've been following this group with a bit of anticipation. I heard a couple tracks played on the Eddie Trunk show a couple weeks ago after the interview with Mike Portnoy. I also got the free download single from the band's website. The release tomorrow includes a set with a CD and a DVD containing sme making-of type video I believe - gonna be grabbing the 2 disc set, of course!

Been following it. Was set to download it this morning on amazon, and hesitated. Not sure why, I just did. So I am going to let it sit awhile and see if I get the urge to buy it like I planned. WIth a ton of music that just came out, and Labrie's solo next week, it just didn't inspire me to hit the "buy" button this morning.

Where has everyone been? I've been anticipating this for some time. Can't wait. Been so long since I heard a good old style rock record.

I saw a couple of vids on Youtube and thought it was cool but not as mind blowing as it should be.  At that point, Sherinian was just a hired gun.  Both of the videos screamed for some nice B3 work, but he merely provided backing with no leads.  If they're actually going to utilize him to his obvious potential, it'll be great.

The songs were both real cool, BTW.

Me too. I hope that guy belts it out till he croaks. Simply put, one of the most distinctive and consistent voices in rock. He sounds as good today as 35 years ago in DP.

Well I finally heard the album today and it kicks ass.  Some real good shit...this band definitely deserves more buzz. The only complaint I might have about this album is:  not enough Derek Sherinian.

Anyway, I hope they stick together and aren't just another of those "one-and-done" kinda supergroups.   :\

I downlaoded their 1st ever show off of Dime. It's from last week and is an FM broadcast from London. I haven't heard it all, but it sounds great. Way more interesting than Chickenfoot, but that's probably because I'm not a Hagar fan. But I love Glenn Hughes, and it is so good to hear him on a fresh project.

BTW, who the hell is Joe Bomanassa?
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

You mean Joe Bonamassa?   :)   I don't know, but I'm impressed.  Some tremendous guitar-playing on the album.

He's mostly known in the blues and blues-rock circles. In the interview with him and Glenn on the Eddie Trunk show a few weeks ago (the same night Eddie interviews MP), they talked a lot about Joe and his influences and his style and how he came to join Glenn for this project.

Just checked out one of the new songs.  Not only does Bonamassa play very well, but he's got Paul Rodger's voice.  Good stuff.

Bump.

The track listing for Black Country Communion’s new album “2″ has been announced.

Track listing 1. “The Outsider” 2. “Man In The Middle” 3. “I Can See Your Spirit” 4. “The Battle For Hadrian’s Wall” 5. “Save Me” 6. “Cold” 7. “Smokestack Woman” 8. “Faithless” 9. “An Ordinary Son” 10.” Little Secret” 11. “Crossfire” 12. [...]

No release date yet, but wow, that's still pretty fast.  And they're about to do a summer tour, so I'm glad to see that BCC is going to stick around for the long term instead of just being "a project" thing.

That song title "The Battle For Hadrian's Wall" has gotten me aroused.  Hopefully we'll hear more Derek Sherinian on the new album, because he was MIA on their debut (good as it was).

Yeah, the lack of Derek was just embarrasing for him.  First album was killer though.  The release date for '2' is June 14th.  Less than a year from the last one, impressive.

Little of both.  I thought the heavier songs rather sucked, and the bluesier ones were fantastic.  Too many Beggarmans and too few Songs of Yesterday.  And more important, too little Sherenian.  The album really cries out for some Hammond, and they keep it way too subdued.

Of the new album, the two songs I've heard reinforce what I just said.  I'd like to hear the whole thing, but I suspect it'll be 50/50 like the last album, and really just result in one nice album length playlist.

Great song...and now he's playing The Royal Albert Hall  He's deserves it too.  Massive fan of Bonamassa.  He's got the blues!

Okay, I got to see BCC at the Starland Ballroom in NJ over the weekend AND I've listened to the new album a couple of times.   Live, they kick ass... Jason Bonham is fantastic, as is Bonamassa.  Eddie Trunk intro'd the band and they rocked the house, which was pretty much packed!

I can't decide whether I prefer the 1st or 2nd albums yet, but I will say that there's more Derek Sherinian on the new album, which is already a good thing.   The sound on '2' is crisper too.

Just checked out one of the new songs.  Not only does Bonamassa play very well, but he's got Paul Rodger's voice.  Good stuff.

Barto, you're spot on about Bonamassa sounding like Paul Rodgers.  It's even more apparent on the new album   :tup

Glenn Hughes is thinks Black Country Communion might be coming to an end because the band members can’t commit to regular touring.
