Bumped for sadness. :(

Quote from: Sleepytime Gorilla Museum
We are announcing the following shows:

April 7th, 2011    - Casbah, San Diego, CA

April 8th, 2011    - Troubador, Los Angeles, CA

April 10th, 2011  - The Independent, San Francisco, CA

If you go to these shows, you will have seen Sleepytime Gorilla Museum for the last time. As it turns out, we are being replaced.

It has been an honor to make our music with you, both in the room and not. Though these are our final performances, we are still in the process of finishing a new record, a short film called 'The Last Human Being', and a compendium live DVD that's been gathering source material for the past six years.

You will be invited to take part in both the final shows, and the shooting of the final scene of our film in early August. Please stay tuned.

Ambugaton.

Indeed. :sadpanda: However, the "we are being replaced" statement really confuses me.

Yeah, I was just thinking about that. I think it is just a way of saying that there will be other bands and music to take their place since they are leaving the scene.

Yeah that's what I was considering. Still I regret never being able to see one of their shows. I'm sure it'd be quite the experience.

Me too! They were quite renowned for their stage antics/presence. Ah well, at least the thought of a new album comfort me a bit.

HOLY FUCK I GOT TO MEET TOBY DRIVER AND HE WAS AWESOME

It was incredible. They played all of Coyote except Cartogram Out of Phase, followed by Blue Lambency Downward, The Antique, and On Limpid Form. I would have liked to see another song from Choirs or maybe Aura on an Asylum Wall, but they were still amazing. The Antique and On Limpid Form were absolutely devastating.

Fuck I've always wanted to meet Toby Driver. He seems like he'd be the coolest guy to meet ever.

And that sounds awesome.  :)

Seriously, he's an awesome guy. Really down to earth, really nice. I asked him about the possibility of a second solo album, and he said it's something he'd love to do, it's just a matter of money. I recommended that he try kickstarter for it, especially since that worked with Tartar Lamb II and (essentially the same thing) Part the Second. He said he'd look into it :caffeine:

Awesome! I'm glad other people here are aware of the genius. They have a new song out that's only out for another day or so. I'm loving it so far.

Since you listen to Polkadot Cadaver, I assume you listen to Dog Fashion Disco as well?

If not, GET THE ALBUM "ADULTERY" NOW!

Stolen Babies is the only band I like from this genre so far, maybe cause out of all the others I tried of that genre; they're the only band that has songs with structure and arrangement..

Stolen Babies is one of my favorite bands now, nice pop sensibilities mixed with that weird, avant-garde edge. I love it.

Diablo Swing Orchestra is similar in that regard. You may want to give them a try if you haven't already.

Anyone heard of The Amazing BrandO? He used to be part of the nerdcore hiphop duo Duane and BrandO. But they split, and now he's making (from what I can tell) crazy avant-garde. My friend sent me the song Endless Relentless the other day. Fucking spectacular and balls out crazy.
