Hey wkiml, out of curiosity, do you still drink socially, or have you stopped all together since making a recovery?

I can't drink socially...because of my disease( and it is a disease just like diabetes or high blood pressure) one drink puts me right back where I would have been had I not stopped drinking at all.

glad to hear Chino's doing alright, that's pretty damn crazy. I think saying he has a problem is a bit much, we always used to joke that "You can't be an alcoholic if you're in college", but I think there's some truth to that. I, as well as both of my roommates drank all the time in college and they barely ever touch the stuff now a year and change after graduation, and I try to plan my beer explorations so that I don't get drunk. That said, it *is* a serious and lifelong disease, I know my dad hasn't had a drink in more than 20 years and he still goes to meetings on occasion.
Photobucket sucks.

Getting shitfaced at parties != alcoholism. But hey, let's all judge anyways based on a few photos and an accident.

When it leads to a near fatal experience I'd say you need to do something about it. But hey, it's all laughs here!
No offense to Sigz, but he has not had enough life experience to get it quite yet. Only time and living life will bring this understanding. I have seen so much! He will be offended by this post and probably give me a typical elitist comeback to this post but its just the truth. Sigz is a very sharp, intelligent young man but some things are only fully understood over a prolonged scope of time.

I'm not saying he shouldn't cut back or be more careful, I'm simply saying that that does not equate to alcoholism.

Hey fella's. I'm back home and semi mobile. Still in a good amount of pain, but I have a hefty supply of pain killers to help me with that. I appreciate many of your kind words and concerns during my time of recovery in the hospital. I would like to point out that this accident did not happen because I was drunk, it just happened to occur while I was drunk. You see, I sit on the rails of balconies all the time, its just something I do. The reason I fell backwards was because I fell asleep while having a smoke. I know one can argue that I passed out because I was drunk, but thats not how I work. I have a really hard time staying awake once my body decides its ready for bed, no matter how hard I fight it. I have fallen asleep behind the wheel numerous times, in class, at a Megadeth concert, during firework shows.... all while sober. I can't always control when my eyes shut, its up to them most of the time.

Guess he won't be seeing Avatar again any time soon.

Not if I have anything to do with it.

In about 6 months, you will get mad pussy with that story. Glad to see you're doing alright :metal

The amount of tail that visited me in the hospital was insane. It almost got to the point where I was getting sick of it. Gorgeous girls I never met before were coming in like crazy.

Glad he's ok.  Keep us updated.  And tell him to accept me on fb because he hasn't yet.

My bad man, I got so many friend requests in the days after the accident, I decided to only accept the chicks, lol. Add me again.

whoa!  I am so thankful you are okay chino...this will definately be something you will never forget (or stop sharing)

Yeah... Whenever I'm out and someone starts telling a story, no matter what it is, I know I got them beat.

*****

While I appreciate the concerns on alcoholism, I can assure you I don't have an issue. I know that denial is a common problem with it, but I know I don't have an issue. In regards to the drunken pictures thread, honestly. I think only 2 or 3 of those are from after the age of 19. There is never a time where I am craving a drink, or get pissed that no one is partying that night. I never have drank by myself, unless I just cooked hot dogs or something and wanted a Corona to go with them. I could go weeks at a time and never think of having a drink.

I don't just randomly pass out places.

In this pic, you can clearly see I gathered pillows and a blanket and chose to sleep on the porch. I was on vacation, it was a beautiful night, and the dude I was sharing a room with was doing the dirty with some chick, so I decided to sleep outside, whats so bad about that?

In this picture, I just tripped and fell. I wasn't passed out. I was laying there and couldn't get up because I was laughing so hard.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I am 21. These are the years where you are suppose to get it out of your system. I think its safe to assume that the majority of you older members know exactly what I am talking about. I would honestly say I had a bigger problem with drinking when I was 17 or 18 as opposed to now, and I am pretty sure I am in the clear.

Hi everyone, I am the one who fell off the balcony. I would like to clear a few things up here. I am a former student because I transferred to another college... I was up there helping friends move in... I fell while drunk, not because I was drunk. I will randomly fall asleep with no warning late at night, this was the first time in over a year, it just happened to be at a really bad time. I hope the majority of you people wake up to the smell of your houses on fire and find no way out. Find something to do with your lives others than trolling the internet and ripping on people you know anything about, just so you feel better about yourself.

Hey guys, I'm a lurker here and was actually introduced to Dream Theater by Chino. Chino is one of my best friends and was my room mate for a year and a half at our University.

As those of you that know Chino from his posts, know that Chino likes a good night of boozin. We've had many great, ridiculous nights together. This one however, was not so smooth for our brave bar hopping adventurer.

I'd like to now direct you to this incredible news article:   https://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs430.snc4/47367_438565781672_503811672_5473511_1741470_n.jpg

so, the moral of the story folks, is to not get hammed and fall asleep while sitting on a balcony railing, let alone on the 5th floor.

I've seen him everyday in the Hospital so far, hes doing well and one of the first things he said was "Go tell DTF my story!" So, alas here you are!  His whole body pretty much hurts, as it should, but hes in good spirits and should make a solid recovery.

Oh holy crap. get better soon, chino!
