DO IT!!! I WANT TO BE UP WHEN YOU ANNOUNCE THE SCORES!!!

They are all short, it shouldn't take more than an hour do listen, score, and write.

Someone forgot to take their pills in the morning.

Round 2 Results

Best:

Arriich - Nellie McKay - There You Are In Me - Really awesome song. It managed to cover quite a bit of ground in two and a half minutes, and was interesting throughout.

Very Good:

Orcus - Jon Hopkins - The Wider Sun - Very nice atmospheric orchestral piece. my only major complaint with it is that it didn't really seem to go... anywhere. What was there was really gorgeous though.

Good:

Shmegland - Robert Plant - Freedom Fries - Good solid rock song. I like Robert Plant's voice, and used to be a huge Zeppelin fan, but never really checked out his solo stuff. This was quite good though.

Voxiain - Volbeat - Rebel Monster - Awesome metal song, what really dragged it down was the vocals though.  Not sure how to describe them, but they didn't really work IMO. Besides that the song was great.

73109 - Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit - I already know this song from my childhood spent listening to classic rock radio, but it's a very good song nonetheless. Not much else to say, I feel like most people know what it is.

Decent:

Gorille - The Agonist - Swan Lake - I like Swan Lake and I like The Agonist, but this particular arrangement didn't really work. Alissa has a fantastic voice, but there wasn't anything that really wowed me in this song.

lol:

Birch Boy - Napalm Death - You Suffer - I actually like Napalm Death, but a two-second song is just something to laugh at.

Score:

Arrich - 8
Gorille - 7
Orcus - 7
Voxyn - 6
Shmegland - 5
Birch - 5
73109 - 4

Next Round: Any song that contains a non-'traditional rock' instrument, i.e. something other than guitar, bass, drums, keyboard.

Haha yeah. "The Wider Sun" works incredibly well as a lead in to the next track on the album, "Vessel". I still love it on its own but like you said it just kinda builds and that's it. Try giving the album a whirl.

Glad you liked the Nellie McKay Ian! She's a really interesting pop/jazz artist and her stuff is incredibly varied but mostly really good. That song is easily one of my favourites, so I was surprised when I noticed how short it was!

Gonna have to have a think about the new round. Presumably the non-traditional instrument should feature quite prominently (i.e. either used a lot throughout the song, or for a whole solo or something) rather than just being in it?

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.

Any Unexpect songs will fit for the next round but that wouldn't be fair so I'll try to find something else. :P

You're in. So...so far it is you and Orcus (if he wishes). I want Birch to joing and whoever else wants in. I was thinking of instead of a point system, I have 10 dudes, and 9 rounds with each round eliminating someone, or just the normal set up. What ever you guys want.

Edit: and anyone that wants in, just tell me.

Yeah, it should have some relatively prominent role in the song.

Though seriously 73109, I love bouncing songs off my friends in real life so to me, this is what I do and it's fun.  I also get to check out some styles of music I don't know or never checked out before.
