Just watched the first episode. Pretty good stuff. There was a lack of soundtrack, which was boring at first, but then you realized that it was probably done on purpose to emphasize the loneliness. Not sure why the black guy didn't go with him though, it didn't make much sense for him to stay behind.

Dude, spoilers.

I can't talk about the show after it has aired?

It's aired a week later in the UK for example.

Because he's a black guy in a horror setting! :neverusethis:

Just finished watching this, it was AWESOME! I will be definitely be following the series, though since I don't get AMC over here I'll have to wait for people to upload the episodes.

I am interested in watching the show since I've heard of it. I'll see if I can find the show somewhere (which I can).

How long was the premiere? 1 or 2 hours?

66 minutes Volk. I'll definitely be a follower of this, and I'm sure we'll see the black guy again (haven't read the comic, just a guess)

This, exactly.  I told myself it would only be OK because I didn't want to be let down, but wow, it's as good as I could have ever hoped.

And I really hope the man and his son are regular characters.

Dunno, maybe it was because of the hype in this thread but

a) it was pretty average
b) nothing really happened
c) nothing is really expected to happen in the future episodes since after Lost aired a mysterious stranger in the radio is hardly a plot device to get anyone curious

will still follow

Keep in mind that this is a first-time thing, we've never had such a long story about zombies before so they have to set it up well and that could take a while.

You will. The comics are amazing. I haven't got 78 yet but I'm hoping to get it soon.

The first episode was really good. There were a few sections that didn't stay as true to the comics as I had hoped, but that was inevitable.
By the look of it, no one in this thread has read any of the comics though so I'll have to keep my thoughts to myself regarding that.

Excited for the rest of the series. Not sure how far along the story they will get with only 6 episodes though.

The pilot was fantastic. I hope this has a good run and at least covers all the stories arcs in the books.

So it was one of the creepier scenes of the pilot, but who the heck takes the time to write "God Forgive Us" really big in blood on their wall? You would think a hand written note would've sufficed.

It reminds me of the scene from 28 Days Later when the main character enters the church and sees the message scrawled way high up on the wall, "The end is extremely fucking nigh."  Okay, but why take the time to bust out the giant ladder and let everyone know?  That's a little narcissistic.

But I guess that's the whole point.  That dude killed his family and himself and suicide is supposed to be a selfish act.  So, yeah, writing a message in blood on the wall I guess would be the act of a desperate mind unable to think beyond itself.

Oh, yeah, and it was a fantastic show.  I just caught it tonight.  Thank God for DVR.

I missed the first episode, but watched last nights. I was not all that impressed. I mean it was cool, but I don't get why people are worshiping it.

I can sincerely tell you that this is not like every other zombie series.
If you'd read the comics you would understand.

Saw episode two last night. It was also very good. This will be a great season to watch in it's entirety again, once the inevitable dvd is released.  :metal

This just in:  Figures released today confirm that “The Walking Dead” has broken ratings records, with the series reaching more viewers 18-49 than any other show in the history of cable television. The Oct 31 premiere also had record-breaking premiere ratings in 120 countries in Europe, Latin America, Asia and The Middle East.

Thank god for PVR.

Just watched Episode one. WOW. AMAZING. Can't wait for the next 5 episodes this season. Seriously, it had some of the most emotional moments I've ever seen in a television show.
