If the series is as good as the trailer, it'll be better than any zombie movie yet. I'm throughly pumped. :metal

Snazzy poster, although I'm not sure why a TV show requires a poster.

The comic it is based on is excellent so I have high hopes for this.

Also they've been showing "Zombie Rules" on the facebook. These are awesome because no movie has time to go into this much detail.

Zombie Rule #1: Ability to run is based on the amount of time the zombie has been undead, and how much rigor mortis or decay has set in.

Zombie Rule #2: Zombies will decay (like regular corpses) but at a much slower rate. It is still possible to differentiate between "young" and "old" zombies, though.

Zombie Rule #3: Zombies are like a pack of lions: if they've just eaten, you are more likely to walk by without them going after you. On the other hand, a pack of hungry zombies will take after you.

Zombie Rule #4: The quickest speed of any zombie is a shambling run, no faster than the first zombie you see in the original Night of the Living Dead. There are NO sprinters among them.

Not sure whether I agree with this rule. Zombies do not need flesh to survive, they do so out of some primal instinct set deep within the brain. Having no digestive system and no central nervous system they wouldn't be able to feel hunger. Therefore, after feasting on the flesh of the dumb girl who thought cornering herself with a shovel would be a good idea, they would still hunt for the flesh of another.

The Walking Dead will be airing as a six part series in the US in October this year but no date has been announced for the UK as yet.
Fail.

Edit:

Quote
FX has picked up the UK rights to zombie thriller The Walking Dead, the first series to be wholly produced by US cable network AMC.

Shawshank Redemption director Frank Darabont is overseeing the TV adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s graphic novel series, which will kick off with a 6 x 60-minute series starring Andrew Lincoln.

It hits the US and UK in October, with FX airing it as a follow-up to series three of True Blood.

Yes!!

Double Edit:

Looks more like November for UK viewers as the US date is Oct 31st.

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS.

Those were how to survive, these are actually what the zombies are doing/how and why they act.

Seriously, she has read pretty muche very zombie book and makes me watch every zombie movie ever made. Most of the movies are absolutely horrendous, but there have been a few gems.

Just watched the first episode. Pretty good stuff. There was a lack of soundtrack, which was boring at first, but then you realized that it was probably done on purpose to emphasize the loneliness. Not sure why the black guy didn't go with him though, it didn't make much sense for him to stay behind.

Watched this last night. EXCELLENT!!

I'm not a huge zombie flick fan. I've seen a ton of zombie films, but usually I'm not that excited about any of them. The spate of films that have sprung up the last five years or so are boring, and overdone if you ask me.

This film (and yes, it was more like a film than a television show) really impressed me. It was excellent in it's detail (the insect noises in the heat of summer, and the filth and bottle flies everywhere around the dead are just a couple of examples). Frank Darabount spared no detail or expense for the first episode. In fact the only thing I fear is that because he is only personally directing the first episode, it might not live up to it's debut the rest of the season. Either way. I'll be tuning in to see for sure.

I haven't read the comic, but the show was really awesome.

Most people not in the US cannot watch it directly and have to download it the next day.

I watched it this afternoon, it was quite awesome.
