She writes good pop music, though its not something I'd go out and listen to on my own.

I don't care for her music. I also don't care for her personality, especially since the Seinfeld incident.

I don't think I have ever heard a single song by her, and I am not even sure if I would know she was if she came on my television.  So, yeah, indifferent, I guess. :lol

A MEN brother!
She is a tallented singer, I'll give her that....in this world of auto-tune I suppose it's nice to see that there's still at least someone on the radio who can sing.  That said though, I think better lyrics can be written by a 6 year old (not sure if she writes her own songs or not though) and the outfits and all that...I wish we could just see artists who are famous and respected for their music, not the way they look, or their troubles with the law.

I have absolutely no idea what you're referring to. Elaborate?

I reckon she's good eh.  I was a fan of the chorus in Bad Romance as soon as I heard it and everyone I knew was like 'ur ghey bro' but then soon enough all those bastards were singing along.  She's definitely a talented lady.

Not bad at all.  Pretty catchy chorus, although not something I would ever listen to on my own with any regularity, but there is definitely a lot worse pop out there.

Indeed. She was drunk, scantily clad, screaming obscenities, and making obscene gestures. Then they put her in Jerry Seinfeld's private box without even asking, and she continued to make an ass of herself while he tried to watch the game.

Her music sounds pretty much the same as a thousand other acts out there right now, she has a very annoying persona, and a lot of her fans outright piss me off (the ones who can't just accept that someone doesn't like her music, and the ones who won't shut up about how supposedly revolutionary she is to pop music). I just flat out don't like her music. I've given it a chance, and it doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.
Any talent she has isn't present in her commercially released music.

Just watched a few music videos of hers... still not something I'd keep in my music library, but I think she's very good at what she does, and very creative. I like it :tup

Can't stand her personally.  Generic songs, stupid outfits, overplayed, overrated and unattractive.
This.

Funnily enough, they play (modern) pop radio at work, and when her name first started being thrown around almost two years ago (or when I first became aware of it, at least), but I didn't know which songs were hers specifically, I started trying to judge it by ear. A lot of songs which I was completely convinced were hers, I later found out weren't (several times in conversations where I had to be corrected). Not surprisingly, you'd have a very hard time convincing me that anything about her music is at all distinguishable from most current awful pop.

And the video of her playing piano, rather than showing she's an amazing talent without the media circus, really just reinforces how much of a truly mediocre songwriter she is.

That doesn't sound much worse than what some of our favorite rockstars have done in public...doesn't make acting like that ok; just pointing that out.

agree.

plain music, the video is good.

Kornflake, your username instantly gains my respect. Welcome to DTF!

Why thank you.
The Seinfeld thing was that she was sitting front row or something at a Mets game looking rediculous and then got mad at paparazi for not leaving her alone (after she actually requested to sit near them...for the attention i'm sure).  Well if you don't want the attention then don't wear a sattelite dish as a hat with tin foil pants (not her real wardrobe that day, but you get what i mean) and then request to sit near the paps!  Then she started giving fans the finger and stuff.  So rather than kick her out of the game entirely, security escorted her up to Jerry's private box (he wasn't at the game that day so the box was empty).  She got to watch the rest of it from there.
Jerry's reaction was just that he thought it was rediculous that anyone else would have been booted from the game, but for her, since she acted liks such a b***h she got upgraded and was allowed to watch from seats that he paid for without them consulting him about it first.

I side with Jerry there.  She just disrespected the entire stadium and as a punishment, now she gets to enjoy his premium seats on his dime? BS!

Never cared for her after all. But it's just frustrating to see girls in the street singing Alejandro and dancing retardedly.

I can't really vote here, I only like pop music stars when they're hot and she's not.
But in all honesty I can't get the chorus of that Paparazzi song out of my mind and whenever I sing it out loud a feel a tad closer to homosexuality.

I like her, haven't really heard a song of hers that made me think "OH GOD MAKE IT STOP".  That said I don't listen to her in my own time, but if she comes on the radio/in a club/friend puts her on then it's all good.  Telephone is a great pop song as well.

Really?

Quote
I know that we are young
And I know that you may love me
But I just can't be with you like this anymore
Alejandro

She's got both hands
In her pocket
And she won't look at you (won't look at you)
She hides true love
En su bolsillo
She's got a halo around her finger
Around you

You know that I love you boy
Hot like Mexico
Rejoice
At this point I've gotta choose
Nothing to lose

Those are pretty good lyrics for a pop song, at least in my opinion.
