I found these douche goggles while golfing today.

Douche goggles or not, you found some Oakleys.  Sell them things, I'm sure some douche would love 'em.

Oh yeah.....MICKELSON!

One more thing.

For those of you that don't use GolfNow.com to book your tee times, you are wasting your money.  I just played the OMNI Amelia Island Plantation Ocean Links course on the coast of North Florida.  Their tee times are ~$200 on their website.  On GolfNow, they are ~$90.  But, I got a hot deal (the best deals offered on the site) last Thurs. for $35!  I feel like I literally robbed the course.  It was incredible, and the 5 ocean front holes were like anything I have ever played.  I threw a 290 yard draw out over the dunes like it was my job.

If you play golf.... GolfNow.com

Checking it out now, some crazy cheap prices there.

I haven't played in months, it's just too damn hot in Florida atm. I could maybe pump out 9 in the morning but that would require being at the course at 6am :(

The only thing that will keep me off the course is lack of money and lightning.  It is very hot, and very humid, though.  I also sweat more than the average individual, so playing 18 while riding in a cart can still lose me 3-4 lbs. of fluids.  At certain points, I find myself praying for a water jug at the next tee.  Then again, I don't have very many years under my belt, so I can't complain.

The Master is on!

I'm thinking DJ and Rahm have a good chance at taking it. I don't think Lefty's game is in shape to take it this year but it's hard to rule him out after his performance in the Open Championship last year.

That group of DJ, Fowler, Mcllroy, Day and Spieth are who I like watching.  Which won can stay dominant?

This was DJs to win, but that's up in the air. It really brings A LOT of players into the mix. I feel like I could never bet on this tournament. Anything can happen. Spieth looks good. Day's game is questionable. Rory has looked good, but I'm not sure his game is sharp enough coming off the back injury. Ricky is leaking right now, and plays well in bad/windy conditions. Matsuyama is a real threat. You never know what Lefty is gonna do, but he's -2 through 2. It's just such a deep field, really hard to handicap.

I'm not really enjoying the "featured groups" on the streaming feed. I'll probably switch to Amen Corner once Fowler get's through the front nine.

I'm watching golf channel and they're analyzing every swing DJ is making on the range.

The Amen Corner feed is showing Thomas Pieters blow is -5. Bogey on 11 and double bogey on 12.

One of our local radio guys said he tried (and failed) to get his wife to play the Masters theme at their wedding.

I try (and also fail) every year to explain to my wife why the Masters is so special. It just is.

I'd like Hoffman to continue his play from yesterday, but I've seen him fold too many times to have any faith that he will. Not to mention, the greens are bound to firm up today which could dramatically effect his putting... and everyone else for that matter.

It shall be an interesting day.

The leader had a 4 shot lead. I expect that lead to be smaller today, regardless of the leader at the end of the day.

I'm about to schedule a hip surgery. I'm not optimistic that I'll be back on the course this year :tdwn. But, I WILL do everything I can to get back to the player I was/want to to be.

Superb job Sergio. Amazing duel. I get why people think watching golf is boring but that was as good as sports gets. Sergio has been golf's whipping boy for a long time now, some of is deserved, a lot of it not. But I am genuinely happy for him.

What incredible drama last night. I was listening on the radio in bed and it kept me hooked until it finished around 12:45am. I think golf is a lot like cricket in the sense that you have to wait for the dramatic moments to come, but when they do come, they are so worth it and as gripping as anything in football etc. Last night was special though. Two heavyweights just exchanging blow after blow and refusing to back down. That near-albatross from Sergio on the 15th was thrilling, especially on radio when all you have to guide you is the commentator's voice exclaiming "OH MY GOODNESS!" Radio commentary of sports beats TV commentary any day.

Bring on the U.S. Open in June! 600+ yard opening and closing holes on that course this year should be interesting!

We're very pleased for Sergio.

It was good to see him make pressure packed shot after shot. I think us golf fans have always thought it was in him to play that way, I'm glad he decided to join us.

Watching Sergio and Phil battle it out in the Ryder Cup was an indicator at what type of golfer Sergio is NOW. I can't say I'm all that surprised that he won the next major. I wouldn't expect anything less from Sergio, but the energy and excitement of his celebration was so authentic and awesome!

I know NOTHING about Erin Hills lol. I'm sure that's the case for most people. And while the US Open is the next major, the next big tournament is The Players in a month. I probobly won't be there this year cuz I'll be recovering from surgery, but not a lot of things look better on TV than Sawgrass!

I wish this thread was this busy all the time  :hat

It's time for The PLAYERS! The course looks terrific. I hear the new grass on the greens is perfect! The lake between 6/7 is truly gorgeous, and looks a million times better than the hill that was between them before. And I love what the new 12 is going to add to the back 9. And I just saw Rickie are 17 in his practice round  :metal.

I was out of town for The Players and didn't have a chance to watch any of it.

Good weather is now returning to the Rocky Mountains. I'll be purchasing my annual pass to the local municipals this weekend so the wifey and I can get serious about playing through the summer. This year I have no goals for my game other than to enjoy the outdoors and spending time with Mrs. P. This year we're primarily going to be playing match play and not worry about registering our rounds with the UGA (Utah Golf Association). My handicap has steadily gone down hill for the last 12 years anyway and I'm finally feeling okay with that.

What's your handicap Podaar? I was down to ~4 before all these damn injuries :censored. I know I should be scratch, so that's the goal.

I always try to get my friends to get in on some match play games, but all these fools wanna do is frustrate themselves with stroke play. I play with a guy that works at a course, and it's not a very difficult course. I think his best time around is 81. Everytime I leave there I say, "Haha, I couldn't shoot over 80 if I tried!" And it always holds true :lol.

Today is 6 weeks since my hip surgery. My PT is going well and I hope to be able to get to chipping/pitching soon. I'm confident with where my swing will be, especially since it will be an extended transition into full speed, so the mechanics should be good. Gotta get my hands good though! And I've got money set aside for a new driver, I just have to put A LOT of gym work in to get my swing speed back to normal. No point in getting fit for a driver before I am the GOLFER that will be using it.

Sylvan,

My current handicap is 12, maybe 14 when I really think about it (I never registered my rounds last season, so I don't actually know). When I was a teenager and on the golf team in High School, I was a 4 handicapper, where you are now. I never picked up a club in my twenties and when I started back up in my thirties I was an 8 handicap. I only really started playing regularly for the past 15 years or so (I'm 55 now).

The worst thing about being a low handicapper, is you're always trying to stay at that level. At some point you physically or practically can't do it anymore. My ankles, hips and back all would suffer horribly if I tried to play the way I did even in my thirties.  Not to mention my schedule. I'm looking forward to the next few years as I begin to negotiate reduced hours at my job as a semi-retirement. I know for sure that being able to play three or more times per week would allow my game to improve naturally.

Best of luck on your recovery, Sylvan...and, I'd say, "Hit 'em straight", but I prefer a little baby-fade.

I never played when I was younger and I regret that, but I can't change it. I've been playing since I was 25, so about 8 years now. I hear ya about the handicap though. I try to score well, but a lot of the time I don't care much and like to have fun. Hit big drives and go for crazy shots. It's really more the practicality of staying scratch for a while than the physical decline. I hear from guys I get paired up with all the time, "You won't be swinging like that when you're my age!" "Dude , I'm a personal trainer and golf fitness specialist. I plan to hit it EXACTLY like this when I'm your age." Enjoy the multiple rounds per week... the good life!

I used to hit a slice (played baseball for 14 years). Teaching myself to hit a draw changed my game. But I've still got the power cut to pull out if I need a fairway.

Having a DUI in my history, I have some sympathy, but that sympathy doesn't extend as far with someone who lives under the microscope and could buy a cab company to have at his disposal in any city in America.

The first thought of mine was that it wasn't alcohol, or not entirely. He's had so many surgeries over the last year, it was just screaming PILLS. He now says that alcohol was NOT involved. I saw the map and he was about 45 mins from his house driving away. Yeah, he should have had a private driver, but this really seems like an unfortunate series of events.

FUCK ESPN FOREVER! Really, can anyone even stand that channel anymore. Photoshopped mugshots??? I almost can't believe it... almost.
