Nothing hasnt really clicked with me, not that I don't like it, Rational Gaze is one of their best songs, I just haven't gotten the reaction from it that most seem to get.

Catch 33 would probably be my favorite from them.

The transition into In Death- Is Death is always  :metal.

Are these guys at all similar to Gojira?
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

Similar in level of heaviness, and maybe a little bit musically (in the sense of mechanical-sounding melodies and riffs)

A little, in terms of heaviness and a general degree of technicality but I don't think there's any band that truly sounds like Meshuggah, they're pretty unique.

I've decided to order the At The Gates DVD before the Meshuggah one btw. Feel free to flame me for this choice but I decided the ATG one was better value.

Repetitive as fuck, but great until I get bored.

This exactly.

It doesn't take me long to get bored of them, usually by the 3rd or 4th song.  :-\

Soul Burn
New Millennium Cyanide Christ
The Exquisite Machine of Torture

Three favorite songs.

Nice favourites actually. Alive and Chaosphere are unbelievably heavy. Still have Nothing, Catch Thirtythree, and ObZen to go I think.

I'm pretty sure others have felt it too, but Elastic is one of the weirdest song I've ever heard in my entire prog journey. That minute or longer extended feedback made my head hurt. Does anyone know a song even weirder than that? From any artist.

"Are You Hung Up?"
"You Call That Music?"
"The Chrome Plated Megaphone of Destiny"
"Lumpy Gravy"

By Frank Zappa

Or on a similar level of heavyness as Meshuggah:
Boris - Feedbacker
Sunn O))) - Domkirke

Nihil-Morari is generally considered the resident Zappa person.

Listening to Catch Thirtythree for the second time since getting it yesterday. This shit is good :hat

I also like Chaosphere, I got into that and Nothing (though the latter ain't as good) but then there's "I" which is pretty cool as well. All I have left is ObZen.
Also-
None is a very good EP as well.

Their sound is so powerful. God I love this band.
Jesus Christ himself* comes down amidst a choir of 2 billion angels singing Handel's Hallelujah chorus. As KrotchRaut shred randomly on guitars made of dragon bones using picks made from God's kidney stones, Jesus heals a blind woman who promptly gives birth onstage to a creation of pure light.

*Yes, Jesus Christ himself. Nothing less will do.

It's funny because I listened to it for the first time like yesterday, and wow the ending is just perfect.

I've kinda lost interest in them, although obZen has some great songs like Bleed. I feel like 'I' is the ultimate Meshuggah song, and when I'm in need of some, I just play that one. It's a fantastic, epic experience.
Not 'Down To F***', but 'Dream Theater Forums' .

Cheers for the responses dudes. I got obZen not long ago, and it's pretty sweet thus far. Tracks like Combustion/Electric Red/Bleed/Dancers To A Discordant System are mental.
