It's midnight on the East so Nightmare is officially out.

I think it's uneven at parts and the guitar solos are, for the most part, disappointing but I like this album WAY more than I did their self-titled.

I think Nightmare's great, a solid 7.5/10. As I said in the thread over on the DT-side: it's miles better than their self-titled, and while not as consistent as City of Evil, the highs surpass it (I know that part will be controversial).

God Hates Us, Save Me, Fiction, Danger Line, and Victim are my favorites, and I really enjoy the others as well (though if any gets skipped, it's Tonight The World Dies).

God Hates Us has to be the heaviest track they've done, easily!

And I love how MP goes all DT on Save Me!

Listen to "A Little Piece of Heaven." In my limited knowledge of the band it's their best song by far.

I've listened to The Beast and the Harlot, Seize the Day, and Bat Country. While I am ready to admit Syn is a hell of a guitar player and is one of the best in modern day metal, those songs suck a goat's scrotum.

I really don't know how anyone could dislike this. And I'm saying this as someone who doesn't really love this band. To those more knowledgable than I: Didn't Rev write that whole song?

Well, let me clarify. I can't stand most straight up metal. Probably 95% of the few metal I listen to has some other elements to it, which keeps the music interesting for me.

Waking the Fallen is such an epic album. I'm not gonna be one of those guys who bitches and moans that A7X doesn't sound like that anymore, but man...they really struck gold when they made that record.

Yeah, definitely. I'd rank them, from favorite to least, Waking The Fallen, City Of Evil, Nightmare, Sounding The Seventh Trumpet and then the self titled.

I don't hate the self titled as much as some do, it has its moments, but I actually think that Diamonds in the Rough - an album of b-sides - is more consistent than it :lol

Just purchased their album on iTunes. I had heard some pieces on Youtube before and I must say it was worth buying it.
Save Me, Nightmare and Fiction are the standouts.

Fiction.

holy shit. completely blown away. its easy to say now that hes gone that he was my favorite member of the band, but he really was. And hearing his voice again and his obvious quirky song writing (pinkly smooth, a little piece of heaven) really just left me speechless. :hefdaddy
