So, what's the deal with their 8-bit remixes? :lol

I discovered those last week and couldn't help but laugh out loud. I think they're amazing

Nice. Do we have a release date?

no, but in talking to the bassist last August, they were looking to release something in February so if that happens, info would probably come out soon.

On the other hand, they just put up another great new track to the Patreon "Blue Eerie Glow"..another nice ballad.

just noticed this, not a ton of details although "WAX" may be referring to something (album title, recording format, etc).

https://www.facebook.com/thereignofkindo/videos/10155801297340390/

Another video made possible by our patrons on Patreon. They have 12 new Kindo songs that you've never heard before. They get a brand new song EVERY month. Want to get into that funky business? Do it.
www.patreon.com/thereignofkindo.

Yes a new album is on the way as well. It will include some of those songs, but not all Patreon songs are gonna end up on WAX. (Hint Hint.) In fact by the time the new album drops, Patrons will already have half of the NEXT album in their *hands. Who am I kidding? You're not even reading this anymore, you're watching the video, or screaming with joy. Incase you are still reading, we intend to release a new record every year. All made possible by our beautiful and loyal Patrons who deserve the highest praise and all the glory. Give it to them.

*on their devices, which they will be holding in their hands.

If you're a fan of these guys, I couldn't recommend the Patreon $1.00 a song thing more. well worth it!

Kind of strange that they'd change their name, but I'm excited for a new album!

Wouldn't be surprised if people kept misspelling "reign".

:lol Every time I tried to turn someone on to this band, I'd have to spell it out "Reign of Kindo as in R E I G N of K I N D O".

Oh, and I dig the new track. Super smooth.

bump.

anyone check out their new album today?

I do enjoy it, although I was reminded on FB how songs like "Poor & Hungry Kings" were for their next album, and will have to wait.

"About Love" and "City of Gods" are probably my favorites, even having heard the Patreon tracks for over a year, but there is something fresh about hearing them within the flow and with possibly a new mix, on the album it self.

Gave it a listen yesterday and another one today. Interestingly enough I liked it better the first time. I need to listen to it properly again to pass some sound judgement. Some of the new elements they are adding I like while others not so much.

Just got my location email for the Jacksonville show. Not a house, but I imagine the dynamic is still gonna be the same, so I'm super excited for a Kindo Party. :hat

I'm going to try to get to the St. Paul show if it works with my schedule. Though more for Thank You Scientist than for Kindo, though I do enjoy Kindo quite a bit. Hopefully I'll see you there Kyle!

very cool Nate!

I did pickup my ticket today as well, despite the show being the night before my niece's Bat-Mitzvah.

I did enjoy moments of TYS at that Protest the Hero show last year, but I'm not sure if I'll ever get past their singer sounding so much like Claudio Sanchez.

You're not alone though with people going for TYS and curious about Kindo (some others in the MN Prog FB group are of the same feeling).

In the Presence of Wolves as well are a band I know and have listened to, but struggled with. I hope seeing them live will help.

I've listened to their most recent album a couple times since this show was announced. I liked it but it didn't quite fully click with me. I think their singer has the same problem of sounding a little too much like Claudio. There's been a large amount of proggish bands with higher pitched singers in recent years. It's something I need to get past generally rather than embrace. I can do that with TYS, at least on their most recent album, which I love. But other bands I just can't get past it.

I've recently gone back to this band, but I still have no desire to revisit their last album. It was so underwhelming and never clicked with me.
