The first two episodes premier tonight. I've already seen them (magically) and they're great, but I don't want to spoil them. The only thing I'll say is the Professor is in top form.

I've been watching Futurama a lot lately because Comedy Central has been having a marathon for the past few days. I'm not sure if I'll catch the season premiere tonight, but I will soon.

Don't they have completely new writers now or something?

I think they just have a pared-down staff of some of the same writers from before, but I could be wrong. Either way Groening is supervising it heavily.

I'm setting my DVR up right now to make sure I don't fucking miss them. I've been waiting for this show to come back on air after the rumors started about the time the movies got released on DVD.

Nope, the DVD movies (Bender's Big Score, etc) were broadcast as episodes as Season 5.

I was pretty unimpressed by the first episode, but the second one was much better. It just seemed like there was too much going on in the first episode.

The professor is awesome as always though.

Seen both episodes now. Not their best, but still pretty decent. I enjoyed the first one more than the second one though. Solid start to a new season, can't wait for the rest. I know again why the Futurama tune is played every time I get called

Yeah I'm confused as to why everyone is saying they're premiering tonight. All of the commercials I've seen have said June 24th.

Saw both episodes today, great stuff! The second wasn't as strong as the first, but still had a fair amount of funny stuff in!

First episode was pretty good. Bender doing cartwheels brought joy to my heart. Second one was ehhhhhhhhhhhh

Well that was pretty underwhelming overall. I never thought this was a good idea because I loved the ending to "Into the Wild Green Yonder", but these still didn't deliver very well. The first one was rather awkward overall and the second one seemed to just stop as opposed to ending, but at least there were a few decent gags in there, though not as many as I've grown to expect from the show.

This. Except well, I liked 2/4 of the movies.

I'm happy with the first two. Maybe the writers just need some time to get back up to speed. First seasons are usually weak links, and restarting the series is kind of like the first season again.

Also, not every episode can be the best episode ever.

First episode i couldn't really enjoy since we had a massive amount of wind. But it was still funny.
Second one was funny but it just pleasing to all the Zach branigan fans. The end was funny as Fuck

Hmm, well, it started excellently, but tapered off pretty quickly.

I have considerably more faith in the Futurama writing team and cast though.

Family Guy is a strong argument for why you should never bring a show back after it's been cancelled. We'll see if Futurama can overcome that.

Just caught a replay of the first two episodes. Bender partying down was awesome. Can't wait for the rest of them.
