Just got Graveyard Mountain Home in the mail today. Didn't like the samples from the website at first, but repeated listens grew on me. So I finally broke down and bought it. I LOVE THIS ALBUM!

Can't wait to watch the movie later.

Great album. It's really enhanced by the "movie."

Kevin just uploaded a photo of him on Facebook, seemingly working on music. No information given, as usual for him.

I'm torn. I want a new OSI badly. But same applies for CK.

Oooh, intriguing photo!  And I wonder who took it.  He's not alone in the studio, it seems.

Of course, it could just be him working on another guest appearance.  Hope not though.

I'd also be excited for guest performances, though the only one that REALLY struck a chord with me so far (and was very genre appropriate) was his keyboard/vocal performance on In Progress' North Atlantic Echoes EP: https://inprogressofficial.bandcamp.com/album/north-atlantic-echoes

I'd be up for something like that again.

This is unrelated to Chroma Key, but last night I was reading Prog magazine and saw a mention of this UK artist named Martin Grech.  I looked him up and loved his music.  It's very Chroma Key and Peter Gabriel-sh, but to my surprise he only has 800 or so likes on Facebook.  Just curious is anyone here is into him.

Here's his bandcamp page with all of this stuff: https://martingrech.bandcamp.com/

So.... I have all 4 OSI albums, but as far as KM solo goes, that's it. Any good places to start? I really love OSI, and listen to them quite often (especially OSI and Free).
I don't want MP playing with DT unless they were making a drummer change. If they let MM go and bring back MP, then fine, but no guest appearance please.

Both of those are great but Dead Air for Radios goes in a few more directions.  Rock/moody/poppy...its awesome.  You Go Now is a lot more moody/ambient.  Both are great but I would say get his solo stuff in order of it being released.

Dead Air for Radios is a MASTERPIECE.    9 songs.  7 indescribably beautiful pieces of perfection, 1 really cool instrumental....and one track of slightly erie rubbish (Hell Mary)

You Go Now is really excellent...but honestly, a bit more ambient "filler".    If you like things more ambient (and I do) then You Go Know is also very excellent, but slightly outshined by DAFR.

If you love both of those, I strongly recommend getting Graveyard Mountain Home last...and be patient with it.   And above all, buy the CD so you can watch the accompanying movie that the album was meant to be a soundtrack of sorts to.     I've grown extremely fond of GMH, and it may have even surpassed You Go Now....but all three albums are excellent.

But please....START WITH DEAD AIR FOR RADIOS.

Sounds good. I'll check those two out first. Probably in the order of release, but depends on where i can find them and for how much. Thanks for the opinions!

It's nearly impossible to find unused copies of DAFR and YGN on CD (at least at a price that doesn't make you want to faint), but Kevin has released the former on his Bandcamp page as a high-quality download version: https://kevinmoore.bandcamp.com/album/dead-air-for-radios

I'd have to go with Dead Air for Radios over You Go Now.  DAFR is just pure magic and I love Zonder's drumming on it -- he brings the tunes to another level.  And I love the spoken word parts from interviews that Kevin did with people he met during his cross-country travels on tracks like "S.O.S." and "On the Page."  Such a cool touch.  You can really feel the mood and frame of mind he was in upon his departure from DT.

You Go Now is just a hair behind DAFR for me.  I think that's because I like Kevin's voice and YGN has maybe one too many instrumental pieces for my taste.  But "Subway" is my all-time fav CK song and the closing track just mesmerizes me like nothing else.

I wanted to know if Hell Mary was somewhat inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey?

No.

IIRC, it's a direct transcription of some weirdo who went into a trance and went forward in time billions of years from now and witnessed the end of the universe.

As far as I'm concerned, the album ends with Mouse.

Both DAFR and YGN are fantastic, but I honestly prefer You Go Now by a bit. It's just a bit more consistent in quality throughout. DAFR has Even The Waves though, which is my favorite Chroma Key song.

I liked the twist that the only "intelligent" life left to witness it is probably one of our AI creations.  Although I'm guessing that it was the intent.  Don't seek out Kevin Moore interviews (mainly because they are so hard to find)

Thank you Mora for pointing out at an even bigger thank you Mebert for creating The Mooreatorium.  Moore is the only guy from the (semi)-original band that I don't immediately recognize the voice of.  And I even met the dude in person, but soooo many moons ago.  He tries so hard to be an enigma ... and moore or less succeeds.
