Rammstein Discussion/Appreciation
« on: June 11, 2010, 06:54:38 PM »
I'm a HUGE fan. I don't even view them as a band but as a legacy because they started my passion for music, any fans out there?

If you haven't checked out the new CD, Liebe ist fuer alle da, you need to because it is amazing and even more controversial than anything they've done before.

Awesome band. With their new CD, they became even better.
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?
LOOK AT THIS AWESOME SHIT AHHHHHH

I've always been interested in them, but haven't heard anything aside from their more well-known songs. My stepdad has a few of their CDs laying around, I'll give 'em a try sometime.

Good songs to check out are (I'll try to do one for each CD):

1. Waidmanns Heil (Liebe ist fuer alle da)
2. Benzin (Rosenrot is a CD with mostly leftovers from Reise, Reise but still some good songs)
3. Reise, Reise
4. Sonne/Ich Will, both are great
5. Bueck Dich (the live performance is mind blowing)
6. Asche zu Asche

If you haven't seen it you should definitely watch their music video for Mann Gegen Mann. You have to watch the whole thing though.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

Yeah they are for sure an awesome band. Can't wait to see them in July !
Jesus Christ himself* comes down amidst a choir of 2 billion angels singing Handel's Hallelujah chorus. As KrotchRaut shred randomly on guitars made of dragon bones using picks made from God's kidney stones, Jesus heals a blind woman who promptly gives birth onstage to a creation of pure light.

*Yes, Jesus Christ himself. Nothing less will do.

It's crazy because there's gonna be people from all over America at this show. The promoters must be proud of themselves :lol

I like them a lot. Not a huge fan, but I've dug just about everything I've heard. My favorite tracks are Tier and their self-titled cut. Very Sabbathy.

Amazing band. I've seen them this year, and it was mindblowing. Their last album brought me back to being a fan after a couple of years of losing interest in them. Favorites: Mein teil, Spieluhr, Sonne, Bestrafe mich, Du hast, Waidmann's heil...

Big fan here, my favorite albums are the first four. I also like their latest DVD Völkerball very much, it has so much energy, great quality (both video & sound), good set list (favorite is Los, it has such a great vibe and its one of my favorite riffs of theirs) and hell of a performance. Favorite songs are Asche zu Asche, Du riechst so gut, Heirate mich, Herzeleid, Rammstein, Tier, Du Hast, Bestrafe mich, Mein Herz brennt, Links 2-3-4, Zwitter, Ich Will, Feuer frei!, Mutter, Sonne, Reise, Reise, Los, Amerika, Mein Teil, Benzin, Mann gegen Mann, Rosenrot, Rammlied and Mehr.

Pretty good band, I enjoy a few tracks. Favourites include: Engel, Seemann, Rammstein, Sehnsucht, Links 2-3-4, Mein Teil, and Ohne Dich. Their live DVD Live Aus Berlin is great.

No one's mentioned the video for Pussy yet?

Haha.

I like them. Mein Teil is a cool song. Bands with no lineup changes FTW.

I have no idea what the big deal over that video is. The people throwing a fit are either prude virgins or have never watched porn.

Oh, I agree. It's no worse than any porn video you could find on the internet. I just remember the big deal being that Pussy is apparently the first music video ever to include visible ejaculation.

There are rumors they're coming back to North America in 2011, might that mean a full scale leg or just a one off show?

I'm actually giving some thought to going and seeing one of the shows.  Strange, since I'm mostly indifferent to their music, but it seems like the sort of thing I'd really enjoy.  It seems like there's a DTF crew hitting Chicago, but honestly, I really have no desire to go to Illinois.  LA seems like a logical choice, I usually have a good time out there,  but it seems like that's where I always go.  I'm wanting to get to NYC at some point, but can't afford it now and really want to go in the Winter, anyway.  Hard to figure out what I want to do with their very limited options.

Fucking Germans.
Argument, the presentation of reasonable views, never makes headway against conviction, and conviction takes no part in argument because it knows.

I'm one of the chosen few for the Chicago show. It will rule.

Good songs to check out are (I'll try to do one for each CD):

1. Waidmanns Heil (Liebe ist fuer alle da)
2. Benzin (Rosenrot is a CD with mostly leftovers from Reise, Reise but still some good songs)
3. Reise, Reise
4. Sonne/Ich Will, both are great
5. Buck Dich (the live performance is mind blowing)
6. Asche zu Asche

FTFY
and
You're missing:
1. Feuer Frei (Open Fire!)
2. Mein Herz Brent (My Heart Burns)
3. Rammstein (Ramming Stone)
4. Mutter (Mother)
5. Seeman (Seaman)
6. Engel (Angel)
and
7. Ohne Dich (Without You)[I cried during the video]

It's Fire Freely btw (German version of "Fire at Will")
Ohne Dich is great, I enjoy Rosenrot a lot but Reise, Reise is totally superiour.
I haven't gotten the latest album yet.

Anytime, I'm currently learning it :)

LIFAD is the best, you need it.

I'm looking forward to it but I'm currently giving Herzeleid and Sehnsucht a few spins, frankly I never gave them a chance before since Mutter was the breakthrough album I assumed anything that came before it wasn't up to the standard, I was dead wrong, they're not as good as the 00's albums but they have some great moments.
