Nope, it's not available in Gainesville.

https://www.engadget.com/2010/06/30/android-3-0-gingerbread-getting-revamped-ui-froyo-living-on-for/

Quote
Last we'd heard, the next major release of Android -- codename Gingerbread -- was scheduled for a fourth-quarter launch, but the always-entertaining Eldar Murtazin has apparently just spilled a few details on what he knows of the release on a Russian podcast. Most notably, the dude says that we can expect an entirely revamped UI -- the first that the platform will have undergone since its introduction -- and will take cues from the fancy 3D Gallery app launched with Eclair. There's said to be a new 1280 x 760 resolution available for devices larger than 4 inches, which would dovetail nicely with Verizon's desire to bring a bunch of Android tablets to market. Like Windows Phone 7, Murtazin claims that Google will be laying down the law with some hardcore hardware specs to run 3.0, demanding a minimum of a 3.5-inch display, a 1GHz processor, and 512MB of RAM -- so what about cheaper devices? Well, those will apparently continue to run Android 2.1 or 2.2, which sounds like yet another serious recipe for platform fragmentation from the outset. We'll apparently see the first devices launch in time for the holidays following an October introduction, which lines up with what we've heard so far. Needless to say, we'll be keeping a close eye on this one.

Read this morning that the Droid Incredible will be getting a software update that will allow 720p video capture (previously only 800x480 was available) and the ability to use the phone as a hotspot. I still don't think that's enough to pull me back from the Droid X, though.

I'm not too sure about the 720p video capture but the hotspot thing is just something that comes with Android 2.2

Yeah I know, but the X has it built in, even when it launches with 2.1. HTC is trying to pick the Incredible up to par with the X prior to launch

There's better photo editing apps out there. I would go with PicSay. It's free.

None of them (for me) seem to be capable of resizing a pic on my Droid.  Photoshop and PicSay are both incapable of it.

Also, the 2.2 rumor for yesterday was just that.  :sadpanda:

Android Market now has 100,000 apps, passes 1 billion download mark

Well, it may not come as a huge surprise considering all the steam Android's picked up over the past few years, but it's a landmark nonetheless: according to AndroLib's data, the Market now has 100,000 apps available for download. It's also interesting to note that it took just under three months to get from 50,000 to the 100,000 mark. An even more impressive number, however, is the fact that over one billion applications have been downloaded. While it's not clear if this number includes app updates or not, the number is massive either way, and they're growing pretty steeply each month. AndroLib's data also notes that over 14,000 applications became available during the month of June, and over 10,000 have appeared already in July. Hit up the source links for more stats, and a chance to see the numbers update in real time.

Too bad developers are starting to ignore Android phones with 1.5 or 1.6

On the bright side, The Onion hasn't ignored you guys yet! They released an update that fixed crashes in 1.5/1.6 this morning.

I've tried it and it's quite good. Well, as good as a reading experience can be on a phone screen.
