An amazing new playlist! (Metropolis Pt. 3)
« on: May 29, 2010, 10:08:20 PM »
I was just trying to make a playlist that moved from one song to the next smoothly, like most songs on all the other albums. Later, I realized all the lyrics together made a great story, almost like an epilogue for the original Metropolis story. Make of it what you will, but here is the playlist:

Regression -> Dance of Eternity -> One Last Time -> Finally Free -> The Glass Prison -> Home -> Losing Time/Grand Finale -> As I Am -> In The Name of God -> The Root of All Evil -> Repentance -> The Count of Tuscany -> Sacrificed Sons -> In The Presence of Enemies (Pt. 1) -> In The Presence of Enemies (Pt. 2) -> Megalomania (This song is by Muse, I just thought it would make an amazing ending).

The first four songs are about Nicholas going receding back in time, Victoria, blah blah blah. The next songs could have many different interpretations, depending on who you think the songs are about (Edward, Julian, the Hypnotist, Nicholas, or Victoria). Tell me what you think!

So basically it's just a playlist of random DT songs. Got it

Most of those transitions seem random and horrible.

Adami you're mean! :O

He's right, though. Most of the transitions that aren't already there just won't work in my opinion.

DTF: Coming soon! Hospitality for n00bs!

Don't buy into the unnecessary negativity in some of the above posts Stratgtar. Some folks around here don't mind being dismissive to well-meaning n00bs. Welcome to the forum though :tup

So? If he's posting an idea on a message board, he should be prepared that it might not be universally liked and that it might receive negative criticism. I don't understand the need for being over-protective or the urgency of muting such criticism because he's a new member, he "thought it was cool" or because of any other reason.

LOL I had a similar conflict before here. But I swear, as long as he's a sane man, he'll eventually adapt.

Welcome, Stratgtar.  But this does seem just like a playlist.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Replying to the above posts, yes, it is just a random series of songs. And this playlist wasn't created for the purpose of making a new story out of DT songs. I simply made it because these are songs I happened to like, that seemed to flow together better than others (read: NOT NECISSARILY WELL). Later, I found that an interesting story could be made out of the lyrics. So I just thought I'd share. And I really don't mind the criticism, it helps me improve my works. Plus, I could really care less if people are trying to be "mean" or not.

How much less can you care? What measurements are you using and does the EU approve (AndyDT wants to know)?
