11. Jester’s Door
Their first Jester song since Jester Script Transfigured!

Yeah, noticed that too, hopefully something special.

Indeed, I really expect that one to be good.

In Flames - In the Studio #1.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnQ33QVKpHs

They say they spent a long time recording the album, getting the right sounds etc. which is promising.  The small snippet we heard sounded like regular later In Flames, but I think this could be a good sounding record.  They seem more focused in this vid, considering the DVD of ASOP, where they looked like no one had any idea.

Not decided yet if I'm gonna check the new album out, personally I feel like the albums have gotten worse for every release, at least A Sense of Purpose which is my least favorite.

I think ASOP got a really bad wrap.  It's on par with the rest of the later In Flames material, I never really understood why people thought it was significantly worse than their other album.  Some good songs on it.

Yeah but, a few good songs isn't really enough to make an album great.
The Chosen Pessimist was probably my favorite because it was so unique, but it kinda feels to me a bit like the In Flames-sound has gotten a bit uninteresting, ASOP had some decent songs, but at the end of the day those songs aren't on par with the earlier stuff.
A lot of people criticized Come Clarity when it came out, but what I liked about CC was that it had a lot of variety, it wasn't just the 'typical' formula with heavy intro>some creaming>melodic chorus>repeat.  :P

Come Clarity is a fantastic album, such a great atmosphere and really amazing songs all the way through.  I will admit they sounded a little stale on ASOP, like they were just going through the motions.  I still like the sound and enjoy the vibe of the album.

CC and RtR are both excellent albums. ASOP was good, but a little weaker than those two. The only one that was really below par was Soundtrack.

Yeah, I like them, but RTR and CC kick the shit out of ASOP and STYE IMHO.  RTR and CC are just in another league.

How can soundtrack be so high up? It's an utterly riff-recycle affair.

Ehm... I don't know what to think about Deliver Us. The beginning is OK and the solo is great, but the vocals just don't do anything for me, and it sounds a lot like Soundtrack to Your Escape.

I really like the music, and i'm sure the vocals will grow on me - they sound better than the ASOP vocals for sure. I hated his pseudo-growl on that. (Though TCP is my fav IF song..)

It was released as a single.

And might I remind everyone that telling people where to find a pirated version is against the rules.

Just listened to it.....basically.....it's not bad.  It's decent.  Quite different from anything else they have done which is a good thing.  Chorus is quite good and I appriciate Anders actually trying to 'sing' more.  Definitely not a trainwreck, looking forward to the album.

Deliver Us isn't bad, but it isn't great, either. But I have to say, it's better than anything on ASOP, 'cause Anders isn't using the weak screaming style he had on it (and the few albums preceding it) and the production is better. Still, I think I won't buy the album when it comes out.

Anders' voice is just too whiny. I prefer his 'half-growl' to his plain singing on a track like that.

Other than the vocals it was, somewhat typically, uninspired but decent.

No way, singing > half-growling.

How else would we have the awesomeness of Crawl Through Knives?
