Cool stuff, pretty much what I'd expect from Muse in terms of abstractness.

The single ``Uprising´´ is out.

Interesting choice for a first track of a record, I say.

I really really like that keyboard/synth melody that opens the song!

The artwork is simply amazing. Uprising seems to be a very good song, and I think the album will sound better overall than BH&R.

I agree, although BH&R was an amazing album, and from what I've heard, I'm sceptical about where the album will go, musically. Exogenesis will be the deciding factor for me.
And yes, the album artwork is jaw-dropping.

Edited out the link as that version is not provided by the band or the label, so is pirated. Be more careful please.

Bends-era Radiohead I can understand a little bit, especially with Muse's early stuff, but Coldplay?  Coldplay is like Radiohead because they're English, but then with added water.  Lots of water.  Coldplay is extra-watered down Radiohead.  Muse has the ability to make Radiohead sound like "Muse-lite."

Try these songs:

Take a Bow
Hysteria
Exo-Politics
Stockholm Syndrome
Starlight
Knights of Cydonia
Plug in Baby
New Born

Or just get the "Absolution" album.

True in every regard.

And the artwork looks great! Can't wait.

Except for a few songs on the first album, Muse DO NOT sound like Radiohead.  The only reason people who haven't listened to Muse that much think that is because Matt Bellamy and Thom Yorke have extremely similar vocal styles.  But once you've listened to both bands enough, it becomes pretty obvious that they have different sounds and very different approaches.

And Coldplay sounds more like Radiohead than Muse sounds like either of them, but I wouldn't say they sound that much like Radiohead.

Ok, just listened to most of Muse's work on their website last night and today. I will say they are better than I thought. I prefer the heavier material like "Time is running out", "Hysteria" and "Knights.." However, alot of the other stuff like "Apocalypse Please", "Sing for absolution" and several others do indeed sound just like Radiohead. Its not just me, the AMG reviewers also bring it up alot and anyone who doesnt see the major similarities hasnt listened to either band much at all.

I can see how you'd make that conclusion with Sing for Absolution, but Apocalypse Please?  That's got to be one of my favorite openers...those jarring, eerie, creepy chords and great vocal melody are just...*goes to listen again*

They posted on myspace about pre-orders. There is a deluxe box that looks freekishly like the Black Clouds box set, and is a decent value, but I'm not a big enough Muse fan to lay down $100 on it.

I'm sure I'll end up pre-ordering the CD/DVD version from Amazon.

I almost never hear about that song and it's one of my favorites (Apocalypse Please). I do believe I'll have a listen myself.

Honestly Uprising is a pretty disappointing opening track. Moves really slow and the only interesting part is the two note bass part that carries the song.

Uh...Muse is great and coldplay is okay, but they are no where even in the same league as Radiohead!
