Sounds like Muse is trying to be badass with "Psycho". There's no need for that, they did that just fine with "Knights of Cydonia"

I just think Psycho is going to be an awesome live track. It'll definitely be a crazy audience one during the chorus

New song is a big step up from Psycho, in my opinion.

Dead Inside is definitely better than Psycho, but nothing too liberal in approach. Something that could have been on either of their last couple of records.

Yeah, I'm really loving Dead Inside. That said, Psycho's not bad at all. It really comes to life in a live setting, it seems. Reapers seems like it'll be great on the album too.

Oh and according an interview yesterday, Matt confirmed that The Globalist is going to be a ten minute long prog rock epic and is the official sequel to Citizen Erased! :metal :hefdaddy

Also, am I the only one who didn't like Dead Inside nearly as much as Psycho?

Probably, since I seem to have really odd music tastes...

Yeah, I'm digging Dead Inside a bit, at least more than I did with Psycho, which just seemed really vanilla by Muse standards.

I found it to be the most average, meh song shown so far. Sounds like really lazy Muse.

This one was alright. I don't think I like it as much as Dead Inside, but it certainly isn't as offensive as Psycho was.

One thing I really don't want on this album is more singing by Christopher Wolstenholme.  Not that he's a bad singer, but he just can't compare to Matt.

The Handler definitely is my favorite among all of these.

Rather heavy Absolution-vibe to it.

damn I want to hear this whole album asap. Only a few days thanksfully.

But Mercy, on the other hand...

I bought the little promo single with Dead Inside and Psycho, so that's all I've heard until the actual release.

JFK/Defector now available to listen to. Cool track!

At this point I may not have to buy the album since they release a track a day  :lol

They've released like four songs since the last time I checked this thread, and they're all amazing.

I am extremely hyped for this album.

Anybody pick this up today? I did. Man I'm thoroughly impressed. Never been too sold on a Muse album before, but this one is amazing to me! The only gripe with it for me is Psycho. It's still good for sure but not quite with the rest of the album in my opinion. For some reason I picture Jared Leto's Joker from the Suicide Squad movie, that's coming out next year, singing this song.  :lol

It's a really solid album. Really infused with rocking riffs, more so than the last few albums, but they've still kept some of the swagger and pop sensibilities as well, so it's created a really fun album. Very infectious.

And the title track is great, was pretty surprising. :lol

The title track floored me.  :hefdaddy

The rest of the album needs more spins, but so far I like all of it, especially Defector, Reapers and The Handler. It might turn out that Psycho is the weakest one on the album.

Anybody pick this up today?

Yep, I bought it from iTunes this morning before I left for work and threw it on my iPhone.  I was gonna try to listen to it during some slow stretches today, but we were busy as hell all day :lol, so it's on my agenda for tonight.  I'll throw it on to a CD for my car, too.

Honestly, I don't really like any of the songs that weren't already released as singles, but I haven't been able to listen to The Globalist, because it's Premium Only on Spotify ( >:( ) and doesn't seem to be on YouTube anywhere...

But Mercy and Defector are incredible!  :metal

I don't know if I will be able to get past that stupid ass drill sergeant stuff in Psycho.  Talk about ruining a potentially good song with that silly crap.

It's clear as day that Muse loves them some Ennio Morricone.  They did the man with the harmonica bit as the intro to Knights of Cydonia on the last tour, and the whistling at the beginning of The Globalist sounds like it's right out of L'Arena, which was used in the grave escape scene of Kill Bill Volume 2.
