Who's heard United States of Eurasia?

I really don't know what to think. Other than that it sounds a whole lot like Queen.

First thing I thought...not actually that impressed on first listen.  I'll need to hear it again, but I'm not hearing anything truly amazing so far.

EDIT: Listened again.  Good piano work from Matt as always.  They weren't kidding about the classical music style either.  Sounds kinda epic, but can't touch most of the songs on BH&R.  I still hold high hopes for Exogenesis.

"We Are the Champions" for sure. But it's nice. It's not super wow, but the second part where he's playing the Chopin tune is really cool.

I loved the track. I didn't know what to think at first, but I recall something similar happening with Supermassive Black Hole when it was first released. The piano work is outsanding as always, it's going to be great to have an album with lots of Bellamy piano stuff.

Sounds a lot like Queen as said, but it's pretty decent. Is that Chopin at the end? The main riff sounds a lot like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom also. Definitely bodes well for the album.

Nice song; the sound seems to better than on BH&R, and yes, the Queen influence is damn big.

Nothing wrong with a little Queen influence. The music is fantastic, and the lyrics are solid. The chorus chant part before the Chopin is darn cool.

I'm not that surprised by the Queen influence.  Dom Howard is apparently a huge Queen fan, and it seems to go hand-in-hand with the more classical direction they wanted to go in for the new album.

Yeah that single that's hosted on Rapidshare that says

"This file is suspected to contain illegal content and has been blocked. After the file has been blocked for 7 days it will automatically be deleted, if the block is not removed by RapidShare. For this reason, a download of this file is currently not possible. "

when you try to download it. That's totally legit.

Scurvy brings up a good point, the site in question says it is a fan site and nothing official. I'm removing the link and asking no one to post it again unless a proven, legitimate link can be made to the song.

Well, you CAN download it from ununitedeurasia.muse.mu but when you try it asks for a username and password, which isn't your normal muse.mu login.  I'm not really sure how to get at it from there, but there's a youtube video of it.  It's obvious Muse wants the fans to hear it, why else would they hide 6 USBs around the world (for each part of the song) and give their fans hints at finding them?

I think you need to have signed up before the whole mission thing started. If you didn't then technically there is no legal way to get the song now. Fortunately I did :D

However, how to download the full song is really confusing :lol

Very good song after first listen. Queen influence in a couple of places is stronger than usual, but it works well.

Listened a couple more times, and the song has really grown on me. The couple of things I wasn't sure about at first have been washed away by the awesomeness of pretty much everything in it. Even the stolen Chopin nocturne at the end, which is used very nicely.

Very pumped for the album! :D

I think Bellamy's good with the guitar, but I think he's exceptional at piano. He's a magnificient piano player, and he just proved that with the Chopin section at the end of the track and the whole song throughout. Amazing. I missed some of his piano work in Black Holes (Hoodoo's piano section is very short)

First of all, have any of you actually listened to Muse before?  Queen has always been a huge influence ever since the Showbiz album, so no surprise here.  They've written many songs in this similar key and even used similar chord progressions. This sounds like Muse to me. I don't think it's the best song they've ever written, but it's not bad at all.  I'm looking forward to listening...scratch that...buying the new album when it comes out in September....Muse has always been a very consistent band for me and i expect them to shine on this next album! Rock on! And seriously listen to the showbiz album if you haven't heard it...it'll rock your socks off!  :metal  Until next time...

I don't think anyone suggested that the Queen influence was a new thing (if they did, they're wrong), but surely even you have to admit that it's stronger in this song than anything else they've done, right down to the Brian May style guitar sound :lol

Not that it's a bad thing at all, it really works well, and the song is rather good!

You are correct with the Brian May-esque guitar harmonies, it does make it sound more heavily influenced. And yes the song is getting better with repeat listens, pretty much how Black Holes and Revelations was for me too!

Who wants a bit of Uprising?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjPW2Dz-GXs

Released to the radio on Monday. There's no need to thank me, merely kiss my balls.

I love it. It's completely new. USE was lovely but not entiiiirely novel for the band. This on the other hand is mental, it sounds like a weird 80s disco version of the Doctor Who theme or something - I no longer have a single doubt that this album is going to be amazing.

I honestly don't know what to think of The United States of Eurasia. It's definitely not as good as I thought it would be but it's not bad. If anything, it's plain underwhelming because there's not that much going on, at least not enough to capture my attention.
